TLC has announced that it will air five new Kate Plus Eight specials on Tuesdays beginning Jan. 13 at 9/8CT.
Featuring Kate Gosselin (a sudden dead ringer for Kendra Wilkinson who will also be seen on next month’s new season of The Celebrity Apprentice) and her kids, the hour-long specials will spotlight such hallmark family moments as a family vacation, much-needed home renovations, twins Mady and Cara’s 14th birthday and — with eight kids all in double digits —single mom Kate finding brand new ways to be completely overwhelmed.
In the first two hours, Kate takes the twins and their sextuplet sibs — 10-year-old Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel — on a trek to New England that includes a day spent living (and dressing and napping) like pilgrims in Plymouth, Mass.
In Maine, a seaside adventure includes hunting crabs, checking lobster traps … and screaming bloody murder when we discover just exactly how the cute little crustaceans we plucked from the sea end up on our plates.
The family also takes a stab at water sports that works out better for some (the younger) than others (the elder).
Future episodes also feature Kate expanding her home to make more room for growing kids and broiling teen emotions, and the Gosselins assembling a yard sale to raise money for a local animal shelter in honor of family pet, Shoka.
