You don’t need to be a mind-reader to predict that something terrific was on the horizon for America’s Got Talent runner-up “The Clairvoyants,” bested only by 12-year-old, ukulele strumming singer-songwriter Grace VanderWaal in last week’s AGT finale.
The telepathic duo (and real-life couple) made up of Thommy Ten and Amélie van Tass — the combined reason AGT fans will forever look at jelly bird eggs and think “chelly beans” — announced today that they will lead the latest cast of The Illusionists — Turn Of The Century when the production returns to Broadway with an all-new show this holiday season.
Though the Austrian pair, along with balletic Ukrainian juggler Viktor Kee, seemed the most Vegas-spectacle ready of the 10 acts that made it to the final battle for AGT‘s latest million-dollar prize, few were shocked when VanderWaal — the sand-paper voiced charmer Simon called “the next Taylor Swift” — claimed the victory that seemed to be hers from the moment she first stepped on the talent spectacle’s stage. But given that The Illusionists’ newest incarnation promises to “transport audience back to the golden age of magic … a time when conjurers were the true rock stars of the day” — which syncs right up with the turn-of-the-century vibe of The Clairvoyants’ recent AGT performances (coincidence?) — it’s hard to imagine Ten and van Tass are too disappointed.
The Illusionists — Turn Of The Century also highlights the origins of some of the greatest and most dangerous illusions and “never-before-seen experiments drawn from a treasure trove of long-forgotten mysteries.”

The Illusionists – Turn Of The Century runs Nov. 25, 2016 to Jan. 1, 2017 at New York City’s Palace Theatre, which hosted the world’s best magicians and vaudeville acts at the turn of the twentieth century.
