This 10-episode, true-crime anthology series begins with a chronicle of the dual police investigations of Detective Greg Kading (Josh Duhamel) and Detective Russell Poole (Jimmi Simpson) into the controversial 1996 and 1997 murders of two of the rap industry’s most legendary players: Tupac Shakur (Marcc Rose) and Christopher Wallace, a.k.a. Biggie Smalls, a.k.a. The Notorious B.I.G. (Wavyy Jonez). The real-life Greg Kading serves as a co-executive producer for the series, which is directed by Anthony Hemingway (The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story).

It follows members of the counterterrorism divisions of the FBI and CIA as they travel the world fighting each other for ownership of information while seemingly working toward the same goal of preventing an imminent attack on American soil. Jeff Daniels, Tahar Rahim, Peter Sarsgaard and Wrenn Schmidt are among the cast.
