Captain Blood was the first of eight memorable onscreen pairings between Flynn and Olivia de Havilland within just a six-year span; among their other notable collaborations was another beloved swashbuckler, The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938), as well as the Western They Died With Their Boots On (1941).
