2011 Visa Championships gymnastics live on NBC and Universal Sports

NBC and Universal Sports have the Visa Championships, the national championships for USA Gymnastics, covered Aug. 18-21 with live competition and and nightly Around the Gym shows wrapping around the live events. Highlights include live prime-time coverage of the women’s finals on NBC Saturday, Aug. 20, at 8pm ET and taped coverage on NBC of the men’s finals Sunday, Aug. 21, at 4:30pm ET. Al Trautwig, Tim Daggett, Elfi Schlegel and Andrea Joyce call the competitions, while Nastia Liukin and John Roethlisberger host Around the Gym. 2011 World Figure Skating Championships TV schedule

Originally scheduled in March in Tokyo, the 2011 World Figure Skating Championships were postponed due to the massive earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan. The Worlds have been rescheduled for April 25-May 1 in Moscow. With many of the top figure skaters hailing from Japan — Miko Ando, Kanako Murakami and defending champion Mao Asada on the women’s side, and Takahiko Kozuka, Nobunari Oda and defending world champion and 2010 Olympic bronze medalist Daisuke Takahashi for the men — expect many competitors to skate with heavy hearts. 2011 U.S. Figure Skating Championships schedule on NBC and NBC Universal

Quick! Name the top U.S. women’s figure skater … No, I can’t either. It’s not like it used to be when Kristi Yamaguchi, Michelle Kwan and Sasha Cohen were household names. I’m told that’s Rachel Flatt we’ve got pictured here, but I couldn’t pick her out of a two-person lineup.
