Telemundo announces La Voz Kids Season 2 premiere date

La Voz Kids Season 2 will premiere Sunday, March 16, at 8pm ET on Telemundo, the network announced today. Daisy Fuentes and Jorge Bernal will return as hosts, with Roberto Tapia and Prince Royce back as music coaches. Tapia and Royce are joined by new coach Natalia Jiménez (the three coaches are pictured below). This season, the show will be produced out of Universal Studios Florida. Although they lost the World Cup-qualifying match with Costa Rica on Tuesday, Mexico still managed to stay alive for possible inclusion in the 2014 World Cup by virtue of the USA defeating Panama via two goals late in their match on the same night. Telemundo will begin auditions for La Voz Kids Season 2 at the end of October, the network announced today. La Voz Kids is a singing competition series spun off from NBC’s The Voice, and features children competing for its singing title. Season 1 of La Voz Kids, which was won by Paola Guanche (pictured, in pink), was a hit for Telemundo, reaching 14.6 million viewers over the course of its 13-week run. Mexico kept its World Cup hopes alive last Friday with a thrilling win over Panama, courtesy of Raul Jimenez’s spectacular bicycle kick goal, and now goes to Costa Rica’s National Stadium in San Jose, where a draw with Costa Rica (which has already obtained one of the direct berths in the 2014 World Cup) would guarantee Mexico fourth place in the Hexagonal and a berth in the World Cup playoff against New Zealand next month. As part of the NFL’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Paola Guanche — winner of the first season of Telemundo’s hit singing competition series La Voz Kids — will perform the national anthem before the game between the Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers on Sept. 22.
