TV schedules and start times have been announced for the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series and Camping World Truck Series. FOX again opens coverage of the Sprint Cup Series, with the first 13 points races of the season, including the Daytona 500 on Feb. 20. TNT has coverage of six races beginning in June. ESPN and ABC share 17 races, with 14 of those on ESPN. All but one of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup races airs on ESPN. All three races on ABC are on Saturday nights. Jimmie Johnson is in the running for a fifth straight Sprint Cup title, but he’ll have to contend with Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick. Where to watch the 2010 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race

NASCAR has made a few adjustments to its non-points All-Star race. Last year, the 10-lap shootout was added as the final segment. This year, the lineup for that shootout will be set by how fast pit crews can change four tires and get their drivers back on the track, as the order in which the cars exit pit road will be how they line up for the final 10 laps. NASCAR driver Jeff Burton, 21-time winner on the Sprint Cup Series competition, appears on next Wednesday’s (March 18) episode of ABC’s venerable soap opera General Hospital. In his storyline, Burton visits neighborhood tavern Jake’s, where he’s having a conversation about racing with bartender Coleman (Blake Gibbons) when Dr. Drake (Jason Thompson) arrives. Despite being a racecar enthusiast, somehow Drake does not recognize the driver of No. 31 Caterpillar Chevrolet. Will Digger Bury NASCAR On FOX?

By Ryan FOX announced that it is taking Digger, its NASCAR Gopher Cam mascot, to disturbing new levels beginning with this Sunday’s Daytona 500. The Adventures of Digger and Friends, a collaboration between FOX Sports chairman David Hill and country music star Keith Urban, will premiere during the race, with five two-minute vignettes featuring the furry characters that will be repeated throughout the NASCAR season, long after we’ve all stopped watching.
