Getting “Lost”: Whatever Happened, Happened Review

Posted by johnnysweeptheleg and Mike Well how about that? Finally, more answers than questions! Of course, that doesn’t mean we weren’t given our fair share of headscratchers throughout. But at least we now know how Young Ben crossed over to become the diabolical man we’ve come to love to hate. And the Hurley/Miles debate rivaled that of Kennedy/Nixon back in 1960. johnnysweeptheleg’s Lost in a Moment: So with the arrival of Kate on the island, Roger sure seems to have gotten over the death of his wife, huh? In typical island fare, just as Roger begins running game on Kate, […]

Getting “Lost”: Whatever Happened, Happened Preview

The “Lost” writers love to go out with a bang at the end of each episode.  Last week, literally. In “Whatever Happened, Happened,” it will be a Dharma shame if we don’t learn the outcome of the shot heard ’round the world.  Is Young Ben really dead?  If so, this blows Faraday’s theory of, well, whatever originally happened will happen, out of the water. From the previews, it looks like everyone’s a suspect after Sayid’s jail break.  And that means house arrest for the Lostees.  Tensions mount within the camp as Sawyer attempts to keep the charade from being revealed, […]

Getting “Lost”: He’s Our You Review

By Mike Frey and johnnysweeptheleg Lost WTF Moment No. 142: Sayid kills little Ben. We knew he’d try, we just didn’t think it would be so easy — you know, despite Sayid’s expertise in the field and the fact that his target was a pasty-faced 12-year-old kid. Then again, since this is Lost, we have to ask, is little Ben really dead? Will the island (or someone else) heal him? Will we ever get past that fact that Larry from Newhart now makes his living as a torturer? On with the recap … johnnysweeptheleg’s Lost in a Moment: Can you […]

Getting “Lost”: He’s Our You Preview

Two things strike us when looking at the information ABC has provided regarding this week’s episode, “He’s Our You.” First, when did Lost become Little Archie? We’ve already seen young Charlotte and young Ben, now we get young Sayid? [And glancing ahead at press releases for future episodes, there’s more where that came from.] Second, how did it take so long for the writers to find a role for William Sanderson, one of the great character actors of our generation? Is it too much to hope that his character, Oldham, will have a brother Darryl and another brother Darryl? Probably, […]

Getting “Lost”: Namaste Review

By Mike Frey and johnnysweeptheleg Well, that was a little disappointing. We waited two weeks for “Namaste,” and the big reveal at the end of the episode was something we already knew — that the kid who brought Sayid his sandwich was young Benjamin Linus. Even if you didn’t read the ABC press release (or our episode preview), you likely recognized the actor, Sterling Beaumon, instantly from his earlier appearance in the episode “The Man Behind the Curtain.” At least we finally know how to pronounce “Namaste.” And that Sayid apparently prefers his sandwiches sans mustard. More importantly, we know […]

Getting “Lost”: Namaste Preview

Hey, remember Lost? It’s been two weeks since we’ve seen a new episode, so we are totally ready for “Namaste.” If you’re like us, you’re probably wondering what that title means. Here’s a link to the Wikipedia page for the word. (Go ahead and check it out. We’ll wait.) If you are truly like us, you still won’t really understand what it means after having read that. We’ll just have to watch the episode to be enlightened. Here’s what the ABC press release says we’ll see: “When some old friends drop in unannounced, Sawyer is forced to further perpetuate his […]

Getting “Lost”: LaFleur Review

By Mike and johnnysweeptheleg We hope you enjoyed last night’s episode, “LaFleur” — because it’s going to have to tide you over for two weeks. That’s right, there’s no new episode next week. The show returns March 18 with an episode titled “Namaste,” and judging from the photos posted on ABC’s press website, it’s an installment that will knock quite a few questions off our list. Let’s not get too far ahead ourselves, though. We still have issues that need to be resolved from this week’s episode. For instance, does anyone have any theories as to who Horace and Amy’s […]

Getting “Lost”: LaFleur Preview

We’re still coming down from the highs of last week’s episode, which packed a lot of off-island action into one hour. Now we head back to the island for “LaFleur,” which — according to an ABC press release — finds Sawyer perpetuating a lie with some of his fellow survivors in order to protect themselves from mistakes of the past. Sounds interesting, but what we want to know is, who’s under the bag in the preview video below? Guest stars this week include old favorites Nestor Carbonell as Richard Alpert and Doug Hutchinson as Horace Goodspeed, as well as newcomers […]

Getting “Lost”: The Life And Death Of Jeremy Bentham Review

By Mike and johnnysweeptheleg We told you this episode would be a good one. (Sure, we could have said that before just about any episode so far this season, and we would have been right — but let us have our moment.) After waiting all last season to find out who was in the coffin, we find out seven episodes into this one exactly how he got there. We also see the return of Matthew Abaddon — only to see him gunned down RoboCop style while loading John Locke’s wheelchair into the trunk. Most importantly, we’re also reminded that we […]

Getting “Lost”: The Life And Death Of Jeremy Bentham Preview

By Mike and johnnysweeptheleg We haven’t done a Lost preview post in a while, but if ever an episode deserved one, it’s “The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham.” When we spoke to head writer Damon Lindelof, he named it as a possible highlight of the season, calling it “an episode where a lot of things come together.” Considering what we’ve already been given so far during what is shaping up to be an incredible season, that would seem to indicate that we should prepare to have our minds blown. If that’s not enough of an endorsement, consider the fact […]
