7 Questions With … Chris Geere of FXX’s “You’re The Worst”

You’re The Worst follows two millennials as attempt to navigate life and love, but too often, they find both concepts just too much work. The show calls itself, “The story of Gretchen and Jimmy, fear, heartbreak, romance, sex, food, Los Angeles, Sunday Funday, friendship, and the fact that sometimes the worst people make the best partners.” Basically, it’s two people who you want to smack around for being so wrong, but somehow, they’re totally right for each other. For its second season, You’re the Worst has hopped from FX to its edgier sibling FXX, and  while the focus of the series […]

With no real budget for a fancy base camp, security or even trailers to work out of, they pieced together six episodes featuring a group of close-knit friends who talked smack to each other while running a fantasy football league. Roughly 20 episodes of “Eskimo Brothers,” “Yobogoya” and “Vinegar Strokes” later, however, a hardcore fan base (armed with this new vocabulary) was hard on the scene. “By Season […]

TCA: Charlie Day on Green Man, canned wine and LEGO SPACESHIPS!

At the FX Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour for It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Charlie Day and I had an in-depth interview about subjects of the utmost importance. 1. And I didn’t smoke, but he was a smoker, and I noticed he was hiding a cigarette in his Coca-Cola can so he could walk around the school and smoke a cigarette. […]

In Better Things, Adlon plays an actor trying to earn a living while navigating her daughters’ lives, having fun with friends, and occasionally finding time for sex. Several other announcements, reactions, renewals, comments and more as eloquently tweeted by my fine colleagues while I was in an interview with Billy Crystal and Josh Gad (more on that later). […]

It’s not up to its epic, 12-day marathon of the entire series that aired a few weeks back, but FXX’s latest stunt related to The Simpsons prizes quality over quantity, when it comes to episodes.
