Leonard Nimoy To Guest Star On “Fringe”

Fringe Television reports that the role of William Bell, the heretofore unseen founder of Massive Dynamic and former lab partner of Walter Bishop, will be played by sci-fi fave Leonard Nimoy. He reportedly will make his first appearance in the show’s season finale May 12. The casting makes sense, synergy-wise, as Nimoy has formed a relationship with the Fringe creators, having reprised his seminal role of Spock in the May 8 theatrical reboot of Star Trek. “Fringe” Recap: Inner Child

By Stacey Harrison This is the Fringe blog, right? Creepy show with lots of kooky science, people with transparent skin, 3-D location titles and an occasional cow? OK, good. It’s been awhile — TWO MONTHS, people!!! — so I thought I’d make sure. And I even had to wait while that last American Idol clown finished his warbling so I could get my fix! I know, what’s a few more minutes after you’ve waited two months, but I’m not the biggest Idol fan anyway (re: never watched it, never plan to), so having it possibly wreak havoc on my DVR […]

Dr. Kutner’s Suicide: Kal Penn Leaves Greg House To Work For The White House

By Lori Acken Yes, House fans, Kutner’s really dead. Really, truly. And according to executive producer Katie Jacobs, he really did commit suicide, no matter what Dr. House would rather think. On the other hand, she also let you think Meat Loaf’s guest appearance was the episode’s big news. I’m just throwin’ that out there … Either way, unless it’s via previous-episode flashback, don’t plan on seeing Kal Penn’s Dr. Lawrence Kutner back at Princeton Plainsboro — even in an Amber-esque, ethereal, bus-riding incarnation. But it’s not because Penn wants to make (more) movies, or he didn’t like his contract, or […]

Anna Torv Talks “Fringe” Return

After a nearly two-month hiatus (get caught up here), the sci-fi smash Fringe is back tonight with a pivotal episode called “Inner Child,” in which a mysterious mute child forms a connection with Agent Olivia Dunham. Meanwhile, an especially gruesome serial killer known as The Artist resurfaces, showcasing his murderous work publicly. Anna Torv, who plays Agent Dunham, recently spoke with reporters about the show’s frequent stops and starts, and what viewers can expect out of the season’s final six episodes, which will include the return of recurring characters like Dr. Jones (Jared Harris) and Agent Harris (Michael Gaston). FOX Finds “More To Love”

By Jeff Pfeiffer It appears that TV audiences may slowly be getting used to seeing new, and actually more real, people populate “reality” shows. We have older women seeking love on TV Land’s The Cougar, America’s Next Top Model is searching for more petite women than usual for next season, and now FOX has announced a new dating competition series for plus-size people, set to premiere later this year.

NFL Preseason Schedule Features Insignificant Games Of Great Interest

The NFL released its national TV schedule for the 2009 preseason, and already there is great intrigue and compelling stories about poorly played games that don’t matter. The first game, the Hall of Fame game between the Bills and Titans, gives us our first look at Terrell Owens in a Bills uniform — unless a preseason game is not considered a mandatory team activity (and under Dick Jauron, this could be the case). Then there is a Super Bowl rematch that won’t be nearly as super when the Cardinals visit the Steelers Aug. 17, with ESPN’s Tony Kornheiser sure to […]

“Family Guy” Season 7 Episode 11 Recap: Not All Dogs Go To Heaven

In the words of Brian, “Ah, the annual Quahog Star Trek convention — where once a year, sci fi buffs take their lips off the barrel of a loaded gun and spend half a day adjusting their eyes to sunlight.” Since Peter was kicked out of last year’s convention for insulting Shatner, he brings the whole reluctant family this time. Stewie buys blueprints of the transporter, professes his love of Picard over Kirk, and attends the cast Q&A session in which the only questions people ask are about buildup on household sponges, skin conditions, and low pressure in artesian wells. David Goodman Talks About The Upcoming “Star Trek: The Next Generation” Cast Reunion On “Family Guy”

by Sarah Yesterday, showrunner and executive producer David Goodman held a conference call to talk about next week’s episode of Family Guy, called “Not All Dogs Go to Heaven,” which features a reunion of the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation. One of the big thrills for Goodman is that he actually gets to be in the episode as a convention-goer who not only gets a scene with Patrick Stewart and Jonathan Frakes, but who also gets into an age-old Trekkie argument about the questionable canon fidelity of the episode “Relics.”
