It might seem a little sacrilegious during the holidays to refer to a piece of technology as a savior, but the DVR can certainly be your best friend with so many great specials, movies and sporting events airing this time of year. Our favorite dramas and sitcoms take a well-deserved break to make room for more seasonal fare, and tonight is a great example of the entertainment cup running over. So set that DVR to make sure you don’t miss out on any of the fun this evening.
By Stacey Harrison Follow @ChannelGuideSRH The cast and crew of Good Luck Charlie have gone through a lot together, but up till their most recent stint, that hadn’t included leaving the comforts of their Los Angeles studio. That all changed early this year when they headed north for a wintry Utah location to film Good Luck Charlie, It’s Christmas! In the festive flick — which premieres tonight at 8 on Disney Channel — the Duncan family embarks on a family vacation that despite everyone’s best intentions quickly turns positively Griswoldian, as the family becomes separated and must race to reunite […]
1. You’re at a magazine rack and can only pick three magazines. Which ones do you pick? Hmm, that’s hard. Probably Teen Vogue, Seventeen and something guilty pleasure, like US Weekly or one of those magazines. 2. If your TV only aired three shows, which three would you want? True Blood. Community. (In the background, to boyfriend Matt Prokop, “Three shows from the tv, babe?”) And Workaholics. 3. What has been your strangest celebrity encounter? Probably when I went up to J.J. Abrams because I was the biggest Lost fan, and he knew who I was and was a fan […]

For those of you who will for one reason or another be up at 4 am ET tomorrow with no desire whatsoever to watch the Royal wedding, we here at Channel Guide Magazine have you covered. For every network that is covering the over-hyped vows, there are countless others that are offering a potpourri of programming choices. With that in mind, here is what we are officially deeming our “Un-Royal Best Bets,” which is subjective at best when you consider that all of these shows are airing just after midnight on the West Coast and shortly before sunrise on the […]
by Karl J. Paloucek This past Wednesday, the nominations went out for the 37th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards, which is where a lot of the kids’ shows get recognized. The big event is set for June 25 in Los Angeles, and will be taped for broadcast on CBS June 27. Who comes out on top when it comes to kids’ programming? Tiffany Thornton, who plays Tawni on Disney Channel’s hit series Sonny With a Chance, sings a Christmas duet with legendary Muppet star Kermit the Frog in a new music video premiering Friday on Disney Channel. The pair sing the song “I Believe,” which is performed as they prepare for the holidays by wrapping gifts, trimming the tree and making paper snowflakes. Kind of cute for its target audience.
