TNA wrestler Tigre Uno challenges Donald Trump

The backlash to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s anti-immigrant — and particularly anti-Mexico — comments over the past month continues, as last night on Twitter, Luchador and TNA X-Division champ Tigre Uno, who resides in Tijuana, Mexico, made it clear where he stands.   According to a Destination America release, the “usually mild-mannered” Tigre Uno plans to address his fans, the people of Mexico and Donald Trump directly on an episode of Impact Wrestling to air on the network July 22 at 9pm ET. UPDATE 7/20/15: A new Destination America release says that Tigre Uno will be making his July […]

We talk with TNA’s Rockstar Spud as Impact Wrestling debuts on Wednesday nights

TNA’s Rockstar Spud has a big decision on his hands when Impact Wrestling moves to Wednesdays on Destination America beginning tonight. The current X Division champion can keep the gold or cash in “Option C” for a shot at the world heavyweight title. It’s a position the 5-foot-4 Englishman never thought he would be in, but it’s one the entertainer isn’t taking for granted. Today he calls Nashville home — a city which is nothing like Birmingham. “The first couple of months were kind of rough because you have to get used to the way things are done,” he said. “Other […]

TNA Impact’s “EC3” Ethan Carter III: “I look at life as WWHD — What Would Jon Hamm Do?”

TNA Impact Wrestling’s Ethan Carter III recalls running for “Class Representative at Large” in high school because the youngster wanted to write a great speech, but have none of the responsibility. The astute member of the student body’s platform was promising more snow days. Even though he failed to deliver weather-wise, EC3 won the election. Years later, Carter unveiled his “EC3 for Champ” campaign during a recent edition of Impact Wrestling on Destination America. “I’ve had an impeccable track record since coming into TNA,” he says. “No besmirches on my win-loss record, but I have yet to receive a title shot. I […]

Mountain Monsters Season 3 will be a “Bigfoot Edition”

Destination America is becoming a network that seems heavily focused on paranormal programming. In February, the network debuted the new series True Supernatural, Ghosts in My House and Ghostly Encounters, and the channel has a backlog of other monster- and ghost-related programs in its library. One of those series that has been a hit — and, in fact, is Destination America’s No. 1 series, according to the network — has been Mountain Monsters, and Mountain Monsters Season 3 begins on March 7. Mountain Monsters Season 3 is billed as a “Bigfoot Edition,” and kicks off with eight episodes featuring the pursuit of Bigfoots (Bigfeet?) across the region (the second […]

Destination America shows what happens “When Turkeys Attack”

In a strange sort of hybrid of America’s Funniest Home Videos and one of the those “Mermaids” or “Megalodon” programs, Destination America’s timely and amusing Thanksgiving special When Turkeys Attack presents a tongue-in-cheek look at ostensibly real people (although at this point it’s hard to trust the full veracity of a Discovery Communications network documentary) who have been attacked by turkeys, and have the footage to prove it. An ominous narrator introduces the clips with warnings about turkey attacks being on the rise across the country, and an interview with a turkey breeder named “Weasel” (who looks exactly like you […]

Destination America continues paranormal programming with “Monsters Underground,” “Ghost Asylum,” “Amish Haunting”

Destination America has found itself with a hit over the past year with its series Mountain Monsters, a fairly standard entry in the “guys in the woods look for legendary monsters” sub-genre of reality programming. It’s likely that show will be back, but in the meantime, the network is trying out a couple of other new series in that vein, and, believe or not, they seem even a bit more out there than Mountain Monsters. Coming up first, on Aug. 22, is Monsters Underground (pictured above), a six-part series following Bill Brock and  his team — a military survivalist, a […]
