Comedy Central’s hit late-night series @midnight, which you can usually see trending on Twitter most weeknights, will be staging its own political debate tonight (March 23). The debate pits Donald Trump (played by Anthony Atamanuik) against Bernie Sanders (played by James Adomian). The two actors star in the comedy show Trump vs. Bernie: The Debate Tour 2016, which is currently on tour. The two “candidates” will field questions from the debate moderator, @midnight host Chris Hardwick. Being the interactive show that it is, it sounds like the episode will also field recorded questions from viewers who use the hashtag #MidnightDebate. It might be […]
It’s been no secret for a while now that pop culture can play a big role for political candidates in getting exposure. Saturday Night Live has played a part in this, as the show has, this season alone, included appearances from presidential candidates Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton, and even courted controversy by allowing candidate Donald Trump to host an episode. Late-night talk show appearances are also a staple for people who are running. This week, Hillary Clinton takes a different approach as she makes an appearance on tomorrow’s (March 16) episode of Comedy Central’s Broad City (which was filmed in December). Broad City stars […]

It’s easy to see how Amy Schumer and Nikki Glaser are best friends. The whip-smart, nothing-is-off-limits comics are brutally honest and brazenly hilarious. Now they’ll both be on Comedy Central with Glaser’s new series Not Safe With Nikki Glaser premiering Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 10:30pm ET/PT. (Inside Amy Schumer returns for a new season in April.) Donning a black leather jacket, black tee and black pants, Glaser sat comfortably on stage at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour in Pasadena and talked to TV critics about sex, which is the focus of Not Safe With Nikki Glaser. A self-described […]
When Comedy Central announced that Jon Stewart’s successor on The Daily Show would be Trevor Noah, much of America responded with, “Who?” Noah, a 31-year-old standup comedian from South Africa and Daily Show contributor since 2014, has an incisive wit and an uncanny ability to expose deep-seated hypocrisy. At a standup performance in late July, Noah riffed on being a black guy being pulled over by police (“I don’t know how not to die.”), being an African on a U.S.-bound airliner during the Ebola outbreak, and the “charming racism” he encountered in the South. It will be a vastly […]
