Cesar Millan and Scooby-Doo celebrate the big four-oh

Today in Los Angeles, noted dog behaviorist Cesar Millan (of the hit series Dog Whisperer) teamed up with noted cartoon dog Scooby-Doo to celebrate each other’s 40th birthday. The event, held at the East Valley Animal Shelter in Van Nuys, also raised awareness of pet adoption and garnered $10,000 for the Cesar and Ilusion Millan Foundation, courtesy of a Cartoon Network donation. But perhaps even more appreciated by the animals was the donation of 40,000 Snausages Scooby-Snacks! “I’m so happy to be celebrating my 40th birthday with an icon like Scooby-Doo,” said Millan. “And I’m thrilled to use this celebratory […]

By Jeff Pfeiffer Zoinks! Has it really been 40 years since Scooby-Doo and the gang of Mystery Inc. entered pop culture? It sure has. Batman Battles Crazy Quilt On New “Brave And The Bold”

The creators of the latest Batman series said they were going to mine the depths of the DC Comics vault and trot out odd characters that haven’t seen the light of day for many years. They’ve stayed true to their word, having dusted off the likes of Gentleman Ghost, Blue Beetle, Kite Man, The Demon and several others. Tonight it’s Crazy Quilt, who has plotted vengeance against Robin. Jeffrey Tambor (Arrested Development) guest stars as Crazy Quilt, who has quite a (ahem) colorful history. His anger toward Robin apparently stems from the Boy Wonder having robbed him of his sight. […]

Comic-Con ’08: No Rest For Batman

Posted by SH Having the fastest movie ever to top $300 million isn’t enough for the Caped Crusader. He’ll be hitting both the small screen and the bookshelf this fall with incarnations far different than the blacker-than-black version currently in theaters. “Batman: The Brave and the Bold” comes to Cartoon Network on Nov. 14, and it will wear its love of nostalgia proudly on its brightly colored sleeve. Taking its name from a comic book that pairs Batman with a different superhero each issue, and almost always took him out of Gotham City, the series will bring to life many […]

Cloning Success?

Posted By RabbitEars As you may have heard, the Clone Wars have started up again. George Lucas, who “felt there were a lot more Star Wars stories left to tell” (and money left to make), is further exploring this period of the famed sci-fi saga’s history in a new animated series set to debut this fall on Cartoon Network. The network had already aired an impressive series of traditionally animated shorts dealing with the Clone Wars a few years back, in anticipation of Episode III, but this new series — which debuts following a theatrical release August 15 — enters […]
