One-On-One Time With Corbin Bleu

While you might not know he’s an avid collector of belt buckles (he’s got 90 of them), most teens know Corbin Bleu as one of the hottest new actors and singers on the rise today. The Brooklyn native topped the success of High School Musical with his lead role in Jump In! and then followed it up with the release of his solo album “Another Side.” And, there are no signs of slowing down. I understand you celebrated your 18th birthday on the set of HSM2. How did you celebrate? It was so crazy actually; the last three birthdays I’ve […]

15 Minutes With Vanessa Hudgens

With just a handful of feature film credits, including the critically acclaimed Thirteen, and a host of recurring TV-role credits on her resume, it took just one movie — High School Musical — to catapult Vanessa Hudgens to teen fame. “From the beginning I always wanted to sing and dance,” Hudgens tells us. And today the 18-year-old actor and singer is doing just that. This past year has to have been such a whirlwind for you — with the success of HSM, the concert tour and the release of your album V. What’s been the best part of all of […]

His Brother May Think He’s A Dork, But Most Teens Find “High School Musical’s” Zac Efron A Sensation

Teen heartthrob Zac Efron is certainly taking his sudden celebrity in stride. Tanned and casually clad in jeans and a plaid shirt, Efron politely greets me at the Beverly Hills Hilton, ready to begin what’s going to be a very long day of press on Disney’s sure-to-be-successful High School Musical 2. Humbled by his popularity, he remains grounded, focused and true to his passions. Here’s what Efron had to share with us. In “HSM2” you will be doing all the singing, what did you have to do to train for that? [The singing voice of Troy Bolton was voiced by […]

“The Kill Point” Countdown Finale Recap

Wow. The Kill Point has come and gone. It’s been a lot of fun following this series since April. Now I’m going to have to find some new show to obsess over. I’m open to suggestions. Last night I had a fantasy football draft (I got Larry Johnson) during the two-hour final episode and had to watch it on the DVR when all 18 (!) rounds were finally done. So I’m a little groggy this morning. So, on to The Kill Point… Mr. “Creepy Me” Mouse is outside the bank, stumbling around with all the SWAT guys trained on him. […]

New ESPN MNF Crew Review

Because I wanted to see the awesomely meaningless Super Bowl XLI preseason rematch and get a sampling of ESPN’s revamped Monday Night Football team, I tuned in to last night’s Bears vs. Colts game — the first half, anyway. I’m not masochistic enough to watch the second half of a preseason game on ESPN. When the production crew wasn’t missing one of Rex Grossman’s fumbled snaps because they were airing NASCAR promos, I was pleased with two thirds of their broadcast. I figured it wouldn’t take much for Ron Jaworski to be an improvement over Joe Theismann, but Jaworski really […]

“The Kill Point” Countdown Episode 5 Recap

Episode 5 opens with Mr. Mouse having a serious case of the Creepy Mes. He’s scrawling stuff in his notebook, and speaking jibberish in Arabic. He’s doing this in the boardroom near the photograph with the bug in it, so the cops can hear everything he says. They’re a little weirded out, too. And Mouse’s wound is getting a little nasty with gangrene. No, he’s not well. Wolf tells Deke to call a bunch of vets they know and start a protest outside to give the cops a little something else to deal with. A nice diversion while Deke’s guys […]

7 Questions With...

7 Questions With … Chad Faust

1. What Has Been Your Strangest Fan Encounter? Chad Faust: Here’s a funny one. It was from The 4400. I got this fan letter from a woman, and one of the things she said in it was that she thought that I was “capable of mass seduction.” Which I thought was … I mean … I guess a compliment! [laughs] Then I was in the makeup room, and [my costar] Joel [Gretsch] was reading this letter from a fan, and he goes, “This woman thinks I’m capable of mass seduction!” And it was the same woman! 2. You’re At A […]

Furry Meerkats Continue Their Fight For Survival

Ready for the return of a drama about certain families that involves adultery, treachery, murders of family members by rival gangs, love affairs, plots to create power shifts, turf wars and more? No, The Sopranos hasn’t come back. These real-life “mobs” are the heroes, heroines, villains and those of murky intent found in Animal Planet‘s cult hit Meerkat Manor, debuting its third season Aug. 10. Already a part of pop culture, with references to the ‘kats made on shows such as Rescue Me, Jeopardy!, Brothers & Sisters and The Class, the series offers all the combined cuteness and hard-edged reality […]

FOX Knows You’ve Been Clamoring For More Barry Switzer

FOX Sports today released its NFL on FOX broadcasting teams, as well as some changes to its FOX NFL Sunday studio show. Giving up the traveling studio show that had Joe Buck working double duty as studio host and play-by-play man, FOX NFL Sunday returns to the FOX Network Center in Los Angeles. Curt Menefee is the new full-time host, and he’s joined again by Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long and Jimmy Johnson, with funny guy Frank Caliendo and weather chick Jillian Barberie adding their segments. Perhaps realizing the importance of having an actual “information guy” there to give the show […]
