Comic-Con ’08: No Rest For Batman

Posted by SH Having the fastest movie ever to top $300 million isn’t enough for the Caped Crusader. He’ll be hitting both the small screen and the bookshelf this fall with incarnations far different than the blacker-than-black version currently in theaters. “Batman: The Brave and the Bold” comes to Cartoon Network on Nov. 14, and it will wear its love of nostalgia proudly on its brightly colored sleeve. Taking its name from a comic book that pairs Batman with a different superhero each issue, and almost always took him out of Gotham City, the series will bring to life many […]

Pooper Bowl Sunday

The hype has started already — only 17 days until the big game! And I can already guarantee who will be there. With plenty of hard-hitting tackles, lots of running, occasional biting, and, yes, some befouling of the field of play, this event is once again a must-see for you and all of your rowdy friends. Of course, I’m talking about Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl, now up to number IV (still a ways off from the XLII of the Super Bowl, but ahead of DIY’s inaugural Toilet Bowl (?!), also on the same day). Airing at 3pm ET on Feb. […]

Animal Planet Of The Apes

Animal Planet is going ape once again, with a new show on the heels of its successful, cute and educational series Orangutan Island. (By the way, have you checked out the fun site that lets you find out which orang from the show you are most like? To give you some hint about myself, my results find that I am most like Donald, the loyal, easy-going, slightly co-dependent one. Wait, don’t leave me all alone on this post just yet!) On February 8, the network debuts Escape to Chimp Eden at 9:30pm ET (it will then air at 9pm ET […]

Orangutans: The New Meerkats?

After the sad and shocking death of poor Flower on Meerkat Manor last week, I just can’t take the heartache any more! I need to find a new “animal soap,” and I just may have it with Orangutan Island, premiering November 2 on Animal Planet and airing Fridays (filling in the void left when MM goes on hiatus; the season finale of MM serves as a lead-in to the new series on the 2nd). Taking place in Borneo, Orangutan Island follows a group of 35 of the title apes who have been orphaned and live on a river island sanctuary. […]
