One Tree Hill: The Slippery Slope Continues 8

Posted by: haro1d Last night’s recap is quick and easy: While Lucas, Nathan and Skills tried to helm a victory for the Ravens, the ladies — Peyton, Brooke, Haley, Mia and Lindsey — managed to get stuck in the school library. There, things turned part John Hughes movie, part ’70s sitcom, as Mia tried to get background on everyone in the room, and Peyton and Lindsey tore each other apart and put each other back together again. Oh, and Nathan was on the brink of telling his wife about the Nanny’s inappropriate conduct, but Carrie stepped in at that moment […]

Getting Lost: "Eggtown" Review

Posted by Mike and johnnysweeptheleg “You’re more lost than you ever were.” — Benjamin Linus Truer words have never been spoken. Sure, Ben was speaking to Locke when he said it, but it sure as hell felt like he was talking to us. Last night’s episode, “Eggtown,” was undeniably the weakest of the new season … which really only means that it was pretty good, not amazing. Here’s how it went down. johnnysweeptheleg’s Lost In A Moment: Remember back in Season 1, when we were all blown away by the fact that Christian Shepherd’s casket was … dun dun dun […]

Dexter: Oedipus Dex

The CBS airing of the pilot for Dexter was not as bad as many fans suspected it might be, mostly because in this era of CSI and its countless clones, the grisly details don’t seem so grisly anymore. On the other hand, what do you do with those words we must protect the little tykes from hearing (as if they should be watching shows like Dexter at all)? Frickin’ is a pretty good sub for, well, I won’t say what for, and frankly Debs is a bit more likable when she is not so potty mouthed. But then there is […]

Getting Lost: “Eggtown” Preview

Thursdays are always special, because they’re Lost days. But today is especially special (it’s the most specialist!), because this morning I (Mike) got to talk to the Today show’s Al Roker about Lost. Actually, I talked to him about his upcoming Spike series DEA, which premieres in April, but during the course of the conversation he revealed that he is a Lost fan, too. For the record, he loves Locke, calling him “the glue that holds the show together.” He says he’s getting tired of Ben and doesn’t mind seeing him get pummeled every week by Jack, Sawyer, Danielle or […]

One Tree Hill: The Slippery Slope Continues 7

Posted by: haro1d Another storied night on “Peyton Place” — I mean, “One Tree Hill.” We got to see Lucas’ proposal to Lindsey. Haley flipped out over Peyton’s attachment to Lucas and spent a little too much time at the recording studio. Nanny Carrie got called “mama” by little James for the first time not in a dream sequence; Nanny Carrie smooched her boss and he STILL didn’t fire her. Mouth’s boss got fired for sleeping with pretty much the entire staff, resulting in his not only getting to keep his job but getting promoted to on-camera work. Oh, he […]

Jericho Nuke Notes: Condor

Posted by Ryan Jericho, Season 2, Episode 2: “Condor” Jake helps Major Beck prepare for a special visitor from the Cheyenne government, while Hawkins continues to work with Chavez to uncover the secrets of this new regime. Mimi gets to be an accountant for Jennings & Rall. She’s really excited. She loves bar codes! And we’re pretty sure Jennings & Rall is pure evil. Alas, poor Mimi doesn’t have anyone to invite to her wedding, since all of her family is pretty much dead. Condor is the code name for the president, John Tomarchio, the biggest bird in the West. […]

“The Wire”: Took

Posted by SH Nothing shakes up a liar more than a bit of truth. Well, perceived truth, in this case. Imagine Scott Templeton’s surprise when he picks up his cellphone only to hear a heavy-breathing lunatic claiming to be the serial killer on the other end. McNulty and Lester, meanwhile, are having a ball faking the call with the help of a voice modulator and McNulty’s honest-to-God Baltimore accent. It’s just the latest display of linguistic mastery by Dominic West, who makes us forget every week that he’s actually British. Remember that Season 2 episode when he had McNulty doing […]

Getting Lost: "The Economist" Review

Posted by Mike and johnnysweeptheleg johnnysweeptheleg’s Lost in a moment: This week, Lost was all about games. Playing Let’s Make a Deal, Frank tells Sayid he’ll airlift him to the tanker … in exchange for Charlotte’s rescue from Locke. Flash-forward to Sayid on a golf course attempting a 7-iron shot, when a man – Mr. Avellino – pulls up on his cart and bets him he gets closer with his 5-iron. Disappointed he isn’t the beverage cart, but just happy enough he didn’t ask to play through, Sayid takes him up on his bet. And wouldn’t you know it, the […]

Getting Lost: "The Economist" Preview

Posted by Mike and johnnysweeptheleg It’s Valentine’s Day, which means everyone has a certain four-letter “L” word on their mind. That’s right — Lost. During the eight-month wait between Seasons 3 and 4, we had forgotten how much we look forward to each new episode. It’s much like football season, when Monday-Saturday are just days that get in the way of our Sundays (give or take an occasional Monday night game that ends up being interesting.) These days, the days between Thursdays seem to take forever (especially when the previews look this good), but here we are.

One Tree Hill: The Slippery Slope Continues 6

Posted by: haro1d Wow, what a night. Everything tightened up a bit in Tree Hill last night, and nearly all of it went down at Tric. Carrie the Nanny got drunk and bold in her flirtation with Nathan — who still hasn’t told his wife anything about it. Brooke initiated her own flirtfest with the bartender, while her mom showed up in a slutty outfit and tried to embarrass her daughter with her lewd and lascivious behavior. Fists flew once again, as Quentin socked Jason (K-Fed) to the floor after Haley stopped Nathan from doing so when Jason grabbed her […]
