The Office: “Did I Stutter?” Recap

Posted by Mike, Ryan and johnnysweeptheleg Michael needs an idea. No, he’s not looking to come up with the next Dunder Mifflin Infinity. There’s wet cement outside and he decides that it represents his chance to leave his mark on the world — he’s just not sure what that mark should be. Kevin suggests Michael’s initials. No good. Some idiot named Mark Greg Sputnik would only steal the credit. Andy suggests a picture, Phyllis has a great idea that she can’t remember and Kelly thinks he should do his handprints like Will Smith outside of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. Jim says […]

How I Met Your Mother: “The Goat” Recap

Posted by Mike Before we get started, it’s worth mentioning that the “Sandcastles in the Sand” music video from last week is currently available as a free download at the iTunes Store. So go get it before they start charging for it. We’ll wait till you get back. OK, so, it’s Ted’s 30th birthday and he’s got a big story to tell about a goat. Wait till you hear it. It’s incredible. But first, there’s another story that needs to be told. One that started at the end of last week’s episode, when Barney and Robin made out. Well, they […]

My Name Is Earl: Killerball

Posted by Ryan Yeah, I’m a few days late with the Earl recap. Better late than never, I suppose. But given the quality of this episode, I’m not so sure. Regrettably, The Hickeys still isn’t canceled. Earl’s now dreaming that he and Billie are old and tired … much like this storyline. The hospital wants Earl off their hands. So they offer Randy either long-term care for Earl at a county medical facility or a one-time payment of $2,000 in Camden Cash good at four area businesses (one of which is paintball!) if he just takes care of Earl himself. […]

Puppy Love? : A "Family Guy" Recap

Posted by knockturn Wow, a new episode? Finally … Brian and Stewie are at Joel’s 2nd birthday party when Brian spots a girl across the yard. When she tells him she thinks magicians are hot, he tells her he’s a magician and would be happy to do a show for her kid’s party. Stewie volunteers to be his assistant, but at the party it turns out that this woman has a boyfriend and they they’re completely happy in their fixer-upper relationship, so Brian bails. Turns out that Brian found his soulmate years ago in the form of Tracey Flannigan, to […]

The Office: “Night Out” Recap

Posted by Mike, Ryan and johnnysweeptheleg You know, The Office isn’t just about laughs. The show provides a public service. Consider the open of last night’s episode. Thanks to Michael, we now know what to do if we ever see a shiny object underneath a car. In the best-case scenario, it’s a quarter. Worst case, it’s tinfoil, and you get gum in your hair and spend the morning getting your head slathered in peanut butter and massaged by Dwight. The lesson learned? Let it go.

How I Met Your Mother: “Sandcastles in the Sand” Recap

The Beek is back! But more on that in a minute. This week’s episode begins with the gang admiring Robin’s breasts, which, we find out, have been reinforced with tape, cotton balls and half of a Nerf football because an old friend from Canada is coming to visit. “Ooh, someone you went to DeGrassi with?” asks Barney. No, it’s Robin’s first boyfriend, Simon, (played by, you guessed it, James Van Der Beek of Dawson’s Creek fame) whom she dated for a whole summer (which, in Canada, is basically the last week in July). He smelled liked Drakkar, he could ollie […]

“Scrubs”: My Manhood

Posted by SH Male breast cancer, lost testicles, sensitive man-hugs and, of course, banana hammocks are all in the mix as the Sacred Heart gang struggles with issues of masculinity. Well, the dudes do. Carla and Elliot simply wonder how men can be so shallow (seemingly forgetting all their own stupid fights). After a dressing-down from Cox over his penchant for snapping his fingers during West Side Story (it’s happened before), and a beat-down from Turk in an old-fashioned bout of Remote Wrestling, J.D. worries he’s not the best male role model for baby Sam. On the bright side, the […]

My Name Is Earl: No Heads And A Duffel Bag

Randy is doing items off of Earl’s list, and he picks Ruined Dad’s Vacation. Earl’s parents have been out of it for a while — they don’t know Earl’s been in a coma, and they don’t even know that Earl was in jail. A few years ago, Earl’s parents were taking a vacation to American Samoa. Reluctantly, they left Randy and Earl in charge of the house. With the liquor cabinet empty and now just merely a cabinet, Earl, Joy and Randy have to make a beer run. In the liquor store parking lot, a shady guy stashes a duffel […]

The Office: “Chairmodel” Recap

As someone who arrives at work every morning at 7am to an almost empty parking lot, we can’t quite appreciate the inconvenience the Dunder Mifflin employees are dealing with as this week’s episode begins. They’re being forced to park down the block and walk to work, because one of the other businesses in their building, W.B. Jones, is renovating its offices, and construction vehicles are taking up precious parking spots. And while we can’t exactly empathize, one look at a post-walk Kevin convinces me that the situation is serious. Not as serious, however, as Michael’s crush on a chair model […]

HIMYM: New Robin Sparkles Video!

Posted by Mike Here’s a little preview of next week’s episode of How I Met Your Mother, “Sandcastles in the Sand” — named after a song by our favorite fake Canadian teen pop star! The very ’80s-inspired music video features cameos by fellow Canadian icon Alan Thicke, former mall-pop princess Tiffany and, um, James Van Der Beek — which is a bit odd considering Dawson’s Creek didn’t premiere until 1998. (Update: See johnnysweeptheleg’s comment below for the explanation of JVDB’s presence in the video.) [myspace 32496725 nolink]
