5 Questions with Bresha Webb of NBC’s “Truth Be Told”

NBC’s new sitcom, Truth Be Told, wants to make you think. The series focuses on two couples, who are best friends and also neighbors. The quartet, played by Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Vanessa Lackey, Bresha Webb and Tone Bell, do everything together and talk about everything. “Nothing is off limits,” explains Webb, who plays opinionated pediatrician and newlywed. Tracy. “We can talk about everything and anything and not get offended and if we do, we talk about it. Like friends do, there’s no curtain, we don’t have to mask our real emotions about things.” A close group of friends open to discussing […]

Andrea Navedo talks Season 2 of Jane the Virgin, best guest stars and Latino coffee

For a comedy, Jane the Virgin (airing Mondays on The CW beginning tonight) certainly relies on its dramatic storylines and soapy narrative in order to keep the plot pushing forward. Between dead twins, murder and stolen babies, there are plenty of dark stories to go around. It’s a pace Andrea Navedo is certainly accustomed to, given her previous experience on daytime soaps like One Life to Live and Guiding Light. • RELATED: Jane the Virgin Season 2 premiere recap: Jane the Miracle As Jane’s single mother Xiomara Villanueva on the CW series, Navedo has plenty of those twists to play […]

5 Questions With … Kunal Nayyar of CBS’s “The Big Bang Theory”

It’s hard to be the only single friend among a group of geeky dudes. That’s the situation Kunal Nayyar’s Raj Koothrappali often found himself in throughout the past few seasons of The Big Bang Theory, before he finally settled down with a gal of his own in the form of Emily Sweeney (Laura Spencer). Unfortunately for Raj, Emily’s penchant for horror wasn’t exactly well-suited with his own gentler personality, and the pair called it quits by the end of Season 8. They weren’t the only couple to do so, as Amy (Mayim Bialik) pressed pause on her relationship with Sheldon […]

Last Comic Standing: Norm Macdonald pays it forward

Norm Macdonald emits a vibe of genuine decency, much like Jimmy Stewart and Tom Hanks. It can’t be faked, much as politicians may try. MacDonald, 51, takes his place at the judges’ table with Roseanne Barr and Keenen Ivory Wayans when Last Comic Standing returns on NBC July 22 at 9pm ET/PT. After decades as a standup (he still does some 250 gigs annually), Macdonald has the experience to impart wisdom to those trying to make it in such a tough field. “Standup is more like a craft than an art so it can be learned more,” Macdonald says […]

5 Questions With Jeffrey Dean Morgan of “Extant”

Jeffrey Dean Morgan spends enough time without his shirt on in CBS’ Extant to make most women take notice. It’s surprising with Morgan’s movie star looks that acting came about accidentally. After helping a friend move to Los Angeles, Morgan met a casting director, and “the next thing you know, I did a Roger Corman movie.” “If you are my age or older, you started doing Corman movies,” Morgan, 49, continues. “And I did a couple of those and I did not know what I was doing. I did not know what a mark was or how to memorize lines, […]

5 Questions with Breeda Wool, who keeps the “Faith” in Lifetime’s UnREAL

However tempted you might be to feel sorry for Faith, the painfully insecure, churchly tomboy virgin on Lifetime’s Monday night The Bachelor sendup UnREAL, actress Breeda Wool, who plays her, hopes you’ll take a page from “Everlasting” suitor Adam’s playbook and have a little faith in Faith. “I’m very inexperienced at dating in general,” Wool explains of her character’s fish-out-of-water nature (secrets are looming!) — which makes her a natural target for Everlasting’s pitiless producers and her fellow contestants. “My grandmother, church and little country community really pushed me to go on the show so I could blossom as a […]
