CBS pulls out all the stops for its new talent competition series The World’s Best, which features entertainment acts of all kinds from every corner of the world. The performers not only have to impress the celebrity judges, but they also have to break through the “wall of the world” — an international panel of 50 experts from all areas of showbiz — on the way to the top.

The World’s Best boasts some big talent of its own. James Corden serves as host, with Drew Barrymore, RuPaul Charles (not in full RuPaul regalia) and Faith Hill on the panel of American judges. Unscripted TV heavy hitters Mark Burnett (Survivor, The Voice) and Mike Darnell (American Idol, Little Big Shots) are executive producers.
“The time has come to take talent competition shows to the next level and bring in judges from around the world to decide on the ultimate winner,” Burnett says. “It’s like the Olympics for entertainment, but you don’t have to wait every two years.”
The 10-episode series auditions on one of TV’s biggest stages, debuting immediately after CBS wraps up coverage of Super Bowl LIII.
“This is a global platform, and to have the Super Bowl as our lead-in audience, it couldn’t be better than that,” Charles says.
“And we’re going to keep the party going!” Barrymore adds. “Everybody’s in great moods, and wild or upset, but they just want to keep it going, so we’re going to keep it going for everybody.”
The World’s Best premieres on CBS Sunday, Feb. 3, immediately following coverage of Super Bowl LIII. The series airs Wednesdays at 8pm ET/PT beginning Feb. 5.
