The Masked Singer

FOX
Wednesdays beginning Jan. 2 at 9pm ET/PT

In the new year, FOX presents The Masked Singer, a celebrity singing competition based on the hit South Korean series King of Mask Singer, where award-winning artists don elaborate and outlandish costumes and sing incognito. During each performance, while trying not to giggle at the ridiculous costumes, the judges and audience will try to use clues to identify the mysterious singer and be awed by the hidden talent. Each performer will only be known by his or her character name, including “The Raven,” “The Poodle” and “The Pineapple,” until he or she is eliminated, and only then will the masked singer be revealed.

While FOX has gone to great lengths to ensure that the contestants remain a surprise, the network teases that the accolades of this season’s dozen participants include a combined 65 Grammy Award nominations, 16 Emmy Award nominations, four stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and four Super Bowl titles. The fun will not only be in each episode’s big reveal, but also in learning which celebs are willing to look like the love child of an NFL mascot and a Las Vegas showgirl, all for the sake of entertainment.

Nick Cannon hosts the competition. The panel of judges includes Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke.

  1. Good guessing, GayleMaria, but the clue of “Puppy Love” has me thinking the Peacock is Donny Osmond.
