DC Comics’ new streaming service, DC Universe, launched on Sept. 15 (Batman Day, appropriately), and the service’s first original series, Titans, kicks off today, with episodes released weekly. The live-action drama is based on the Teen Titans comics, with the cast led by Brenton Thwaites as Robin, Teagan Croft as Raven, Ryan Potter as Beast Boy, Minka Kelly as Dove, Alan Ritchson as Hawk and Anna Diop as Starfire. The series includes Greg Berlanti (The CW’s superhero shows) as an executive producer, and features a mature, darker tone.

First-time filmmaker Rudy Valdez explores mandatory sentencing within the legal system as he shares the story of his sister Cindy Shank, a mother of three who received a 15-year mandatory sentence for conspiracy charges related to her deceased ex-boyfriend’s crimes. The film originally began as Valdez’s attempts to record and share the family moments that Shank missed while incarcerated. In it, Valdez finds his voice as a filmmaker and activist.

The Voice: “The Blind Auditions, Part 7/The Battles Premiere”

As the Blind Auditions conclude, the coaches enlist music industry powerhouses Keith Urban, Halsey, Thomas Rhett and CeeLo Green to prepare their artists for the Battle Rounds, which begin tonight and continue tomorrow. In each round, coaches put two of their own team members against each other in a dueling duet. Each coach then chooses which artist from their team is the strongest, with the option of stealing losing artists from an opposing coach.
