Loosely based on the real-life experiences of creator/executive producer Jim Reynolds, this multi-camera comedy explores what happens when a white family from the Midwest moves into a predominantly black neighborhood in Los Angeles. Cedric the Entertainer stars as Calvin Butler, an old-school guy and longtime resident who’s wary of his new neighbors, played by New Girl’s Max Greenfield and 2 Broke Girls’ Beth Behrs.

31 Days of Halloween

Syfy celebrates the 10th anniversary of its spooky, monthlong programming event featuring movies and series leading up to Halloween. The event kicks off today with movies including the 2017 Syfy original Neverknock, as well as films including The Rite, Resident Evil and more. Highlights for the rest of the month will include the season premieres of Z Nation and Van Helsing on Oct. 5, new original movies each Saturday night, and the return of the Channel Zero series on Oct. 26.

Queen of the World

This revealing documentary will offer insights into the life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, explore her role as a world figurehead and examine how she’s preparing to pass the baton to a new generation of royals. This film, which was created with privileged access to the queen, her family, her staff and her residences, draws on footage from her private film archives. It features behind-the-scenes moments with the queen and other members of the royal family, including Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall; Princess Anne; Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge; Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex; and the Countess of Wessex.

As Shaun (Freddie Highmore) pushes back against Dr. Melendez (Nicholas Gonzalez) in order to treat a gravely ill hospital janitor and deal with the return of Lea (Paige Spara), Dr. Lim (Christina Chang) risks a lawsuit and her career to help a teenage girl repair the damage caused by an archaic custom. Meanwhile, Dr. Glassman (Richard Schiff) exercises demanding oversight with Dr. Blaize (Lisa Edelstein) in choosing a doctor for his brain surgery.

The passengers from Flight 828 find themselves under government scrutiny as they struggle to resume their lives. Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh) is forced to confront the fact that Jared (J.R. In the premiere episode, “A Slap in the Face,” Erika is about to begin her sentence for a desperate crime that also implicated her family, and she races to clear her siblings’ names. Also, Lilly is a single mom whose crime destroyed her daughter’s dream of becoming a lawyer. In her last day of freedom, she tries to reconcile with her daughter.

Fourteen finalists will present their innovative driver concepts on the second edition of Golf Channel’s Driver vs. Driver, with the hopes of ultimately creating Wilson Golf’s next world-class driver. Driver vs. Driver 2 pits aspiring golf equipment designers in an elimination-style competition in which their concepts are transformed into prototypes, field tested, critiqued and refined. In the end, one designer will win $250,000 and have his or her driver hit retail stores worldwide. Adam’s (Sean Giambrone) girlfriend, Jackie (now played by Alexis G. Zall), is back after spending her summer at NYU; she has changed so much, it’s almost like she’s a whole different person. Dr. Rhodes (Colin Donnell) fights to save the life of one of Chicago Fire’s own, while Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) and his brother Jay (Jesse Lee Soffer) struggle with their own personal battle.

Mysteries at the Museum: “Special: Zodiac Killer”

History enthusiast and adventurer Don Wildman investigates the most notorious unsolved crime in American history — the Zodiac murders. Diving headfirst into the case, Wildman meets with a retired inspector who worked the crimes, learns code-breaking from a Zodiac cryptographer, visits a DNA lab to understand how close authorities are to catching the killer and learns a new theory on who may be responsible.

Forged in Fire: “Tournament: Round 1”

In the first ever Forged in Fire tournament, four different classes of metalsmithing professionals will compete over five weeks for the chance to win the biggest Forged in Fire prize ever — $50,000. In this first week, four farriers are tasked with creating a San Mai blade from familiar tools: horseshoes and hoof rasps. After testing, the remaining two farriers return to their home forges to create a famed weapon of the English Civil War. The winner will return in the final Tournament of Champions for a chance to win the $50,000 grand prize.

Single Parents: “Sleepover Ready”

Douglas (Brad Garrett) is stuck hosting the kids’ Saturday sleepover, and Will (Taran Killam) uses this as an opportunity to try to bond with him. Angie (Leighton Meester) and Graham (Tyler Wladis) both struggle with their own fear of sleepovers — Graham is worried to stay the night without his mom and not in his own house, and Angie is worried to sleep over with her man friend Owen (Andy Favreau). Meanwhile, Poppy (Kimrie Lewis) helps Miggy (Jake Choi) come up with potential job ideas in order to help him become more responsible.

The group tries to be there for Sophie (Lizzy Greene) as an upcoming father-daughter dance recital approaches, and when she asks a very reluctant Eddie (David Giuntoli) to dance with her, it leaves Delilah (Stephanie Szostak) feeling uneasy. Against her better judgment, Maggie (Allison Miller) agrees to have Rome (Romany Malco) in for a therapy session, but it quickly becomes clear that her new friendships are a conflict of interest. Meanwhile, someone discovers a cryptic voicemail from Jon (Ron Livingston) that was left right before he died.

Blumhouse, the production company behind big-screen horror hits like Get Out and the Purge franchise, continues its television presence with this ambitious series. The first Friday of each month will see the debut of a scary new episode related to a notable holiday in that month. Things appropriately kick off with a Halloween-themed episode called “The Body,” which is about a hitman (Tom Bateman) who finds his work made more difficult when he has to transport a body on Halloween night, but everyone is enamored by what they think is his killer costume.

The investigation takes the team to multiple haunted locations, culminating at the North Head Lighthouse in Washington, site of some of the most tragic shipwrecks in this area.
