In “Fit to Be Tied,” the first episode of a two-part season finale, Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Watson’s (Lucy Liu) deadly conflict with Sherlock’s former friend Michael (Desmond Harrington) intensifies when their newest victim looks to be the serial killer’s latest prey.

The new installment of this anthology series looking at momentous events in American history looks back at the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, through the memories of those caught in the middle of the horror. Among these recollections, hear the harrowing experiences of a trader who worked in the World Trade Center, a firefighter, a Port Authority officer, an ER doctor, an NYPD rescue worker and a news reporter who were at Ground Zero.

Swiped: Hooking Up in the Digital Age

With more than 40 million Americans currently engaging in online and app dating, this $2.5 billion industry is rapidly changing the rules of dating, while expanding access to potential mates for everything from “hookups” to long-term relationships. Each original World Trade Center tower consisted of 110 floors, and each floor had a story. In this two-hour special, survivors from two of those floors — many speaking publicly for the first time — tell their harrowing stories of being there on the fateful day of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks. Focusing on one floor in the North Tower and one floor in the South, this film provides a never-before-achieved intimacy with what it was really like to be inside the Twin Towers on 9/11.

Robbie and Kenzi are convinced Eric is on their island and wonder if he is looking for a companion. Krichelle struggles with her infection and contemplates leaving the island early, which in turn would leave Tim alone. British streaming service BritBox brings this sitcom over from across the pond, where it aired on BBC One earlier this year. It follows two retired neighbors, Edith (Alison Steadman) and Phil (British comedy legend John Cleese, of Monty Python and Fawlty Towers fame). With their former spouses no longer around, the old flames now plan to start a new life together abroad. Their plans are thwarted, however, when Edith’s middle-aged son Roger (Jason Watkins) moves back into his mother’s home after walking out on his family.

Born This Way Presents: Deaf Out Loud
A&E, 8pm

Marlee Matlin, the only deaf performer to date to have won an Oscar, is an executive producer of this documentary special that follows three predominantly deaf families as they raise their children in a hearing world. Though there are many differing opinions about how deaf children should be raised, these families work to forge their own paths forward and combat the daily social stigmas many deaf people face.

MasterChef: “Battle of the Beef/The Semi Final”
FOX, 8pm

In the first of the night’s back-to-back episodes, the remaining home chefs face a series of skills tests that use beef as the protein. Then, the final four contestants are split into pairs and must prepare incredible entrees for the judges’ mentors: chefs Daniel Boulud, Jonathan Waxman and Lidia Bastianich. At stake are a trio of spots in the season finale.

Raising Tourette’s: “Finding Courage/Celebration”
