This follow-up to the Oscar-winning 2005 documentary, one of the highest-grossing docs of all time, finds filmmaker Luc Jacquet returning to the Antarctic to revisit the Emperor penguins who call that frozen continent home. Jacquet spent two months shooting in the Antarctic winter using the new technology of 4K cameras, airborne drones and under-ice diving. The film tells the story of two penguins, a father and son, as they overcome the challenges of life in this hostile land. Morgan Freeman is back to narrate the film.

The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling, Part 1

Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin) directed this riveting, two-part (concluding tomorrow night) documentary look at the life of his friend and mentor Garry Shandling. When Shandling passed away in 2016, he was remembered as a top standup comic and star of two groundbreaking sitcoms. This film shows how complex the “real” Shandling was, via interviews with more than 40 of the comedian’s family members and friends, and through journal writings the self-proclaimed “spiritual warrior” kept for decades that reveal a brilliant mind and restless soul.

The Voice: “The Battles, Part 3”

The Terror blends its historical narrative with horror and sci-fi, imagining what happened to the expeditioners as they battled the cold, starvation, each other, their own pasts — and possibly a large, bloodthirsty beast. Into the Night: Portraits of Life and Death

The final part of Judd Apatow’s documentary offers an extensive examination of Garry Shandling’s landmark, innovative sitcom The Larry Sanders Show, with Shandling’s diaries revealing an ongoing struggle with complacency and a search for authenticity. But in the wake of the show’s success, soul-wrenching tragedy — fueled at times by Shandling’s own demons — played itself out.
