Rob Lowe is a man of many talents: He’s devilishly handsome, a member of the Brat Pack, and a six-time Golden Globe nominee for work including Thursday’s Child, The West Wing and, more recently, The Grinder. But did you know that the celebrated actor is also a paranormal junkie?
Rob’s curiosity for the unexplained began during his childhood, and in A&E’s new reality series The Lowe Files (Wednesdays beginning Aug. 2 at 10pm ET/PT), Lowe and his sons Matthew and John Owen travel around the country and explore infamous unsolved mysteries. In each episode, the Lowes investigate a spooky legend and, after meeting with top experts and conducting scientific experiments, debate the validity of the story.
A few of the missions into the unexplained include: exploring an alien base located 2,000 feet underwater off the coast of Malibu; working with a renowned shaman at an abandoned boys reformatory; and training with a top-secret government operative in methods used for identifying images taken from great distances. And Rob is OK if he and his sons can’t prove the unexplained — his real goal is to spend time with his beloved boys.
