The four-night event concludes with an episode about a 2003 trial of real-estate billionaire Robert Durst, who 12 years later would be caught on tape confessing to multiple murders. Six jurors from that 2003 trial reflect on why they acquitted Durst of murder in those proceedings, even after he admitted to killing his neighbor — allegedly in self-defense — and throwing his dismembered body into a nearby bay.

Along the Los Angeles coastline, great white sharks are increasing in numbers and seem to be hunting out of season. Dr. Chris Lowe, director of the CSULB Shark Lab, wants to know why, and his investigation takes him to Guadalupe Island, off the coast of Mexico, where he finds the answer.

Joel Sartore journeys to Spain, where he photographs the alluring Iberian lynx, and to China to film the Yangtze giant softshell turtle. In Cameroon, he hopes to glimpse the amazing Cross River gorilla, the rarest in the world.

In early November, giant hammerhead sharks arrive off Bimini, in the Bahamas. But why? Leading shark scientist Dr. Tristan Guttridge tags and follows these normally solitary sharks to find out. Many appear to be pregnant females, as an ultrasound of one of them shows, and Guttridge believes they spend winter in Bimini to feed the growing young in their bellies.

MasterChef: “Whole-y Cow!”

The top 15 home cooks face an “udderly” unique mystery box challenge: They must randomly select a different body part of a cow and use it as the star of their dish.
