TCM Spotlight: 50 Years of Hitchcock

Hitchcock moved to Paramount Pictures and filmed Rear Window in 1954. In 1955, he became a United States citizen and produced The Trouble With Harry. In 1956, he remade his own 1934 film, The Man Who Knew Too Much, with James Stewart in the starring role. His other 1956 film, The Wrong Man, is a low-key, black-and-white production based on a real-life case of mistaken identity. Catch all four films tonight.

It was produced in black and white, even though color films were increasing in popularity. Today it is considered one of the greatest film comedies of all time and was voted as the top comedy film by the American Film Institute on its 100 Years … 100 Laughs poll in 2000.
