Killing Richard Glossip
Investigation Discovery, 9pm
For nearly 20 years, two men convicted of murder — one on death row, and the other sentenced to life without parole — have maintained two very different accounts of what led to motel owner Barry Van Treese’s 1997 slaying. The motel’s manager, Richard Glossip, has steadfastly maintained his innocence, suspended in a nightmarish limbo that has seen him tried twice, marched to the edge of death three times, and Oklahoma’s execution methods debated in the Supreme Court and beyond. This two-night documentary from acclaimed filmmaker Joe Berlinger follows the breakneck efforts of Glossip’s attorneys and Dead Man Walking’s Sister Helen Prejean to discover the truth.
