La La Land Dominates 2017 Golden Globe Award Winners

Golden Globe Awards Jimmy Fallon Peggy Sirota/NBC

Jimmy Fallon kicked off the 74th annual Golden Globes in true La La Land style singing, dancing and spoofing the film’s more memorable scenes. Plenty of celebrity cameos helped dazzle his red carpet opener including Nicole Kidman, Amy Adams, Kit Harrington, Rami Malek and the Stranger Things cast. Fallon segued indoors with a piano solo – Fallon was at the piano, Ryan Reynolds was draped atop of it. He then brought in his good pal Justin Timberlake, and the duo did their own fantasy interpretation of the musical. When he did take the stage as host of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s 74th Golden Globe Award ceremony he ran into a slight snafu when the teleprompter didn’t work. Fallon joked “cut to Justin Timberlake.” Overall it was a noisy night of fun (Matt Damon had to remind the actors at the back bar that they were back filming live) that also included some memorable moments (the Debbie Reynolds/Carrie Fisher tribute, Meryl Streep’s thoughts on empathy, Ryan Gosling’s acceptance speech).
