Rodie Sanchez Is Back On Hunt For Eugenie in Killing Fields

Shot in real time, Discovery’s Killing Fields returns for a second season tonight at 10/9c, this time following an active criminal investigation as it unfolds. As another body adds to the caseload and unsolved mysteries within these desolate swamplands, Rodie Sanchez has not given up on Eugenie Boisfontaine, a former Louisiana State University student who was found dead in 1997. Rodie believes if he can find the silver truck he’s going to find the killer and then it’s “good night son of a bitch.”

The Eugenie Boisfontaine case has haunted Rodie for nearly two decades. His colleagues claim that they can see how the case is wearing on him, as he’s so desperate to just cross the finish line and deliver on his promise of finding her killer. Another case involving a body stuffed inside a barrel, leads Rodie to believe that this is tied to an unsolved disappearance he worked 26 years ago. The facts surrounding the barrel are eerily similar to what the prime suspect once admitted in a separate investigation for that missing person’s case. But even with that information, Rodie was unable to lock him up as a body was never found … Perhaps until now.

Killing Fields is co-executive produced by Tom Fontana (St. Elsewhere, Oz) and Barry Levinson (Rain Man, Bugsy), and follows detectives Rodie Sanchez, Aubrey St. Angelo, Lori Morgan and Jeremy Sanchez, along with Leslie Bradford and Brett Stassi Jr. as they investigate actual crimes in Iberville Parish, Louisiana (just outside of Baton Rouge). Below is a clip for tonight’s episode:

  2. My husband and I went to the Crusin the Coast in October 2016 and we were sitting on the sidewalk watching the cars (by our 31 Ford Sedan with a 454 Chevy engine)and we heard someone say….Hey Rodie! Is The Killing Fields gonna have a season 2? I (Margo)started googling Rodie Sanchez and my sister-in-law(Theresa) started googling The Killing Fields and we were like school kids because we found it and looked over at him and I said…..That’s HIM! I am going to watch that show when I get back to Virginia. My husband (Steve) and his brother-in-law (Barry) were standing in front of us laughing until Rodie got up and came over and shook our hands and said hello and then proceeded to do the same to them. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Rodie is an awesome guy and we understand his dedication to the victims and their families. We like everyone now and think Aubrey is great and those two together are GREAT! We plan to come down to that part again next October and hope to look you up and come by! Take Care and we pray for all or you and your safety every night!
