Just in time for Halloween, Amazon has released a special and spooktacular episode of its live-action family series, Just Add Magic. In Just Add Magic Halloween, Kelly (Olivia Sanabia), Hannah (Aubrey K. Miller) and Darbie (Abby Donnelly) need to find an ingredient that only blooms on Halloween … and it’s May. The girls cook a time-travel recipe to travel to last Halloween to find the elusive spice and as they hunt for the special ingredient, they must avoid their “past selves,” and come to discover new things about that Halloween night — and each other.

This special 30-minute episode has just the right level of spookiness that will thrill kids ages 6-11 but won’t cause nightmares. And creating a Just Add Magic special for Halloween is a no-brainer. What kid doesn’t imagine cooking up a fantastic concoction that has magical properties?!? This episode technically serves as the Season 2 premiere, but I think it works as a stand-alone episode. Viewers new to the series will easy catch on the premise and get sucked into the charming adventure.
The first season of Just Add Magic is currently available for Prime members to stream using the Amazon Video app for TVs, connected devices including Amazon Fire TV, and mobile devices, or online. Customers who are not already Prime members can sign up for a free trial here. Just Add Magic will return for a second season in 2017.
