Does he have it in him to unite his team and save the day, his own bewildered family and the nation?

Speechless

(charming newcomer Micah Fowler), a funny, patient guy born with cerebral palsy. As Maya takes on — and puts off — the world trying to make it more accommodating of J.J., her boy goes right ahead and finds himself the ally he and his family desperately need. Families with special needs members might find the pilot a bit of an eye roll, but the cast and good intentions could make it worth sticking around for.

NBC, 9pm
Season Premiere!
The medical drama and most recent entry in NBC’s popular Chicago franchise (until Chicago Justice bows in midseason) begins its second season tonight. According to executive producer and creator Dick Wolf, the thing he finds interesting about Chicago Med is that “it’s one show that, if you watch every week, you will learn something. No, we’re not announcing unknown medical breakthroughs, but that’s the responsibility that we have, is that we have to get it right. … You don’t want to get a call from 300 cardiologists saying, ‘Are you crazy? You probably killed 15 people last night with that information.’ It’s a bigger responsibility than we have on the other shows.”
