Each week on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars (airing Mondays, with a results show on Tuesday, Sept. ), beloved celebrities vie for the famed Mirrorball Trophy. And assisting them on their quest for ballroom prowess is a troupe of talented professional dancers, including Season 19 winner Witney Carson. The perky powerhouse reveals that she always looks forward to dancing the Argentine tango and jive, and says of her strategy in the competition, “I like to push the limits each season and this season is no different. I’m willing to take more risks and make my partner the best dancer he can possibly be!” Although she can’t reveal specifics about the dances she has in mind for her partner, rapper Vanilla Ice, Carson promises this season will feature “a lot of great pro numbers and be jam-packed with some special surprise performances that everyone at home will love!” And when Carson answered our “5 Questions,” the spunky sweetheart shows why there’s so much to love about her.

1. What are three foods you have to have in your fridge or pantry?
Always chicken, veggies and Greek yogurt.

2. If your TV carried just three shows or networks, what would they be?
Grey’s Anatomy, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Scandal.

3. Tell us about a time when you were starstruck.
I honestly get starstruck all the time! I’ve never been more starstruck than when I met Harrison Ford. I’m such a huge Star Wars fan, so of course I was completely overwhelmed! He was awesome.

4. When did you first know that dancing was your passion?
I knew I loved dance when I was about 11 years old. I was watching Dancing With the Stars and knew that’s what I had to do. I trained every day after that to make my dreams reality!

5. How has being a skin cancer survivor changed your relationship with the sun?
I’m so much more aware of my skin in the sun. I always put on loads of sunscreen and always wear hats when I go outside. However, it hasn’t changed my relationship with the sun — I love being outdoors! Witney’s Sun-Safe Tip: Buy a moisturizer that has SPF in it, so you’re always protected! I try to wear hats as much as I can when I know I’m going outside too!

  1. Witney, please take care of yourself. You’re far too young and attractive to suffer from skin cancer.
