Following NBC’s coverage of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games tonight, at approximately 10:30pm ET, the network will be airing a special episode of its hit comedy Superstore.

Tying in with NBC’s Olympics coverage, this special standalone episode of Superstore is titled “Olympics,” and, according to executive producer Justin Spitzer, “takes place in the world of the show at some point last season before the walkout.” So don’t be surprised that Cheyenne (Nichole Bloom) is still pregnant, and that the group hasn’t had the big union discussion yet. What you will see: A Cloud 9 Olympics promotion gives Amy (America Ferrera) the chance to meet her childhood hero, gold medal-winning gymnast Missy Jones (special guest star Cecily Strong of Saturday Night Live), who proves to be a little too inspirational. Meanwhile, storewide “Olympic fever” causes Glenn (Mark McKinney) to have some difficulty balancing his extreme patriotism, makes Jonah (Ben Feldman) learn a secret about Mateo’s (Nico Santos) past and has Dina (Lauren Ash) striving to create a “closing ceremony” her colleagues will never forget. The episode features special appearances by Olympic gold medalists Apolo Anton Ohno, Tara Lipinski and McKayla Maroney.

The regular season premiere of Superstore airs Sept. 22 on NBC. Then things will get back to normal, picking up in the wake of the store walkout at the end of Season 1. Spitzer said that he was glad to be able to address unions in Season 1, and that viewers can expect the show to continue to get political and issue-oriented at times. As examples of what to see in that regard this season, Spitzer explained: “We deal this year with Mateo being undocumented. We deal with transgender bathroom protests, which are a big thing right now, obviously, in Target. The morning-after pill, open-carry. And those are early on [in the season].”

The special standalone Olympics episode of Superstore airs Aug. 19 at 10:30pm ET on NBC.
