For the first time since 1994 season, the NFL has a team in Los Angeles, the nation’s second-biggest TV market. The Rams have relocated from St. Louis to L.A., where they played from 1946-94, and will play in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum before moving to a new sports and entertainment complex in Inglewood, Calif., in 2019.

The Rams will also be featured on HBO’s Hard Knocks training camp reality series, which begins its 11th season Aug. 9 at 10pm ET/PT. It’s the first time a relocating team will appear on Hard Knocks, and the first time a No. 1 overall draft pick — quarterback Jared Goff — gets documented by HBO’s cameras in his rookie season. The five-episode series airs Tuesdays through Sept. 6.

The NFL preseason kicks off Aug. 6 with the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony in Canton, Ohio, on ESPN and NFL Network at 7pm ET. Elected to the class of 2016 are Brett Favre, Kevin Greene, Marvin Harrison, Orlando Pace, Ken Stabler, Dick Stanfel, coach Tony Dungy and owner Edward DeBartolo Jr. The Green Bay Packers take on the Indianapolis Colts the following night in the preseason Hall of Fame Game on ESPN.

The regular season kicks off Thursday, Sept. 8, on NBC with a Super Bowl 50 rematch between the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos. CBS and FOX have Sunday afternoon games, and NBC has Sunday Night Football beginning Sept. 11. With Mike Tirico now at NBC Sports, ESPN’s Monday Night Football has a new play-by-play announcer in Sean McDonough. MNF begins with a doubleheader Sept. 12. Thursday Night Football expands to 18 games this season with five games on CBS, five games on NBC and eight games exclusively on NFL Network, which also simulcasts the 10 CBS and NBC games. Twitter also has a new partnership with the NFL to stream the Thursday games that air on CBS and NBC.

  1. My baptism was delayed because the Chicago Cardinal football game ran late. I didn’t care I was only a month old. I’ve been a Pro football fan ever since.
