Along with patriotism, fireworks and picnics, one thing that has also become synonymous with Independence Day in America is Syfy’s Fourth of July Twilight Zone marathon, an annual airing of several episodes from Rod Serling’s legendary sci-fi anthology series. The network also runs this stunt on New Year’s Eve, and the length of each marathon seems to depend upon where the respective holidays fall during the week in a given year.

This year, Independence Day is on Monday, so Syfy is airing its 2016 Fourth of July Twilight Zone Marathon beginning late on Sunday, July 3, and running it all day Monday, July 4. Some fans may be disappointed that this year’s marathon is “only” about 28 hours, compared with some of the epic 40-plus-hour marathons Syfy has run in the past, but it still allows time to enjoy plenty of famous episodes.

Syfy’s 2016 Fourth of July Twilight Zone Marathon airs from July 3 at 11:30pm to July 5 at 4am.
