Summertime’s the time for lighter TV fare, and game shows hit the spot. This summer, ABC’s serving up primetime game shows you’ll love to play along with. The network kicks off a Sunday Fun & Games programming block tonight (June 26), premiering three 10-episode game shows which will air weekly through summer.

First, on Celebrity Family Feud, the spoils all go to charities of the celebs’ choosing — so let’s hope host Steve Harvey awards the correct winners. OK, that joke’s getting old — but our beloved Feud never will! The series will feature celebrities and their immediate or TV families, with the winning team given the chance to win up to $25,000 to donate to the charity of their choice. Tonight, singer Kellie Pickler and family face off against Lance Bass and his ilk; then TV personality NeNe Leakes and actor Ernie Hudson compete.

Next up, Michael Strahan (pictured above) of football and morning show fame hosts The $100,000 Pyramid. This revival keeps the same format we know and love: Celebs team up with regular folks and battle the clock in a game of word association. In tonight’s premiere, Anthony Anderson (black-ish) and Sherri Shepherd compete for prizes with contestants Derek Jech and Lori Burkhoff. Expect to see some funny celebs competing this summer!

Rounding out the Sunday lineup, Match Game is back. Hosted by the quick-witted Alec Baldwin, the classic reboot is sure to be a hoot when two contestants try to match celebrities’ answers in this game of fill-in-the-blank. According to ABC, the season will feature “quick-witted comedians to a multi-talented designer, to stars of stage and screen.” A glance at ABC’s press site shows me we can expect the likes of Tituss Burgess (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), comedian Michael Ian Black, Rosie O’Donnell and many more.

Sunday Fun & Games kicks off tonight (June 26) on ABC at 8pm ET/7pm CT

  1. I hate these three new game shows. Not because I don’t like game shows, because I love them. I don’t like them, because everything has so sexually oriented. Nasty questions, with explicit answers. Not suitable for young viewers. Why is it the TV industry and movie industry alike, will not produce anything that is just plain family fun, that the whole family could watch. I love Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, The Price is Right, Let’s Make a Deal. I thought the new line up would be fun to watch.

  2. I enjoyed ABC’s Game Night last night. The Match Game (or the original Hollywood Squares) is probably my favorite game show ever.
