PBS’ Math-centric Odd Squad Returns With New Additions

PBS’ math-tastic series Odd Squad returns this morning with new episodes and new characters. Monday’s episode will be an hour-long adventure that will introduce new recruits, Agent Olympia (Anna Cathcart) and Agent Otis (Isaac Kragten). 

The series has also announced its first, full-length movie, which will premiere August 1 and feature hilarious guest appearances from Jack McBrayer (30 Rock) and Hannah Simone (New Girl). In this all new adventure, the team faces its biggest challenge ever: adults. When the team is defeated by Weird Team, they must use teamwork and math skills to save the world.

Odd Squad: Agents of Change
Air Dates: June 20-24
When Olive and Otto set off to run their own Odd Squad bureau, Ms. O must find two new recruits who can fill their shoes. A one-hour special premieres June 20 with additional new episodes premiering later in the week.

Odd Squad: The Movie
Premiere Date: August 1
In this feature-length Odd Squad event, a rival group of adults that calls itself Weird Team arrives with a gadget that fixes any odd problem. As a result, Odd Squad is run out of business and all the agents are forced to disband and go back to their lives as regular kids. Using math skills and teamwork, the kids discover Weird Team isn’t actually solving problems, but just covering them up. The Season 2 cast teams up with the Season 1 cast to stop Weird Team and save the world from destruction.

Odd Squad is targeted to kids ages 4-8 and their parents. The live-action series introduces simple math concepts and age-appropriate social skills like cooperation, communication and perseverance. In the fun and friendly program, government agents Olive and Otto use math to investigate strange occurrences in their town. Odd Squad cases include disappearing zeroes, Santa’s missing reindeer, runaway dinosaurs, and characters who escape from books.

  2. We need Otto and Olive back. Or at least we need to be able to see them in this ome a lot more. Or even just make a separate show of Olive and Ottos new odd squad headquarters. I underatand that Ottis and Olympya are a lot like Otto and Olive, but no one can ever compare to Otto and Olive, like come one.
