Team Tee was often in the back of the line on American Grit.

A string of bad luck depleted the team. That changed this week when Tony, the sole member, won a pivotal Evolution heading into the final leg of the reality competition. It was nice to see the underdog still in the game.

One from each of the teams was given the objective of barricading their respective bunkers to the best of their ability. Chains, ropes, wood and chicken wire were used over the course of the 30 minutes allotted. From there, another participant had to break through another’s bunker with the first person to get through and grab their flag winning.

Tony got that much-needed break from the Circus thanks to a masterful job of securing and layering up his bunker and getting through Cam of Team Rorke’s built-up barrier. The bonus for NFL alum’s successful showing the opportunity to have a loved one pay a visit.

Haze of Team Rorke was not happy with Cam’s failure to keep Tony out, especially because it meant she wouldn’t get to see her marine father after four months. Cam tries to cheer her up with some champagne. However, Tony selflessly gave up his prize knowing how badly Haze wanted to see her dad. The tearful reunion between Haze and dad was an emotional moment and a great act of kindness from Tony.

Team Nick had a sit-down with Cam worried Haze may be playing some mind games with him during their Grit romance. Surviving the Circus this time meant essentially receiving the golden ticket to the finals. Cam, Goldie and Mark of Team Noah were chosen for the ultimate obstacle course this week. Mark breezed through the Circus, which was impressive considering it was the first time in for the lumberjack.

He got a bit of reprieve before the Endurance challenge began. The three had to stand on stilts with varying sized foot rests. It was hard not to cheer for Cam, decked in American flag shorts. Basically, the higher on the stilt, the thinner the foot rest. Cam sadly lost his balance and was forced to ring out.

Earlier in the show, John Cena announced the Circus participants could pick a teammate to cheer them on. Strategically, Goldie chose Haze, knowing the affect it could possibly have on Cam. Haze didn’t even take a second to think about her actions. It’s back to the pro wrestling ring for C-A-M as the remaining team members set their sights on the finish line and winning the big money involved.
