So after reading almost everyone’s comment on last week’s recap of Jane the Virgin, it’s pretty clear Team Rafael is winning the fan vote. I’m with all you Team Rafael fans but please, continue to watch the show. Jane hasn’t officially made her decision just yet and I have a feeling she’s not choosing Michael.
The walls might say that Jane wants to be with Michael but I know she doesn’t really want to be with him. Rafael confides in his sister, crazy Luisa who got him in this mess, who tells him that he should pull the cancer card. I mean, Luisa might be loca, but if Rafael really wants Jane and Mateo back he might have to pull some crazy stunt like that.
Looks like Alba isn’t the only one concerned about getting a green card. The reason Milos proposed to Petra is primarily in order for him to get his green card. Not even her being pregnant with Rafael’s baby stopped him from wanting to marry her. I think Milos is actually quite excited about getting married. In fact, he might be the one acting like the bridezilla in this marriage. He’s hired Britney Spears to be the opening act for his wedding and quite honestly, I’m a little worried as to why. Such a strange man, that Milos.
In true telenovela fashion, Britney asks Jane if she’d like to break out in dance in the middle of The Marbella lobby. I guess Britney really can tell who has rhythm…even if they’re a complete stranger and it’s completely random. The two girls break it down to Spears’ hit song “Toxic” until Jane wakes up from her daydream. Darn! I was really feeling those dance moves too.
Everyone except Rogelio is thrilled about the Princess of Pop checking into the hotel. Turns out Rogelio and Britney were once friends — until she betrayed him. He was the one who gave her the idea to kiss Madonna at the MTV Video Music Awards. It was a pitch that Rogelio gave to Enrique Iglesias but I guess my hubby Enrique was sick. It’s crazy to think that iconic kiss could’ve been between Rogelio and Enrique all these years. Now Britney must face Rogelio because she has nowhere to run. This should be very interesting!
You know that saying about your past coming back to haunt you? Well, yeah, it’s true and in some cases it can not only haunt you, but others as well. Alba has done everything to prepare herself to get her green card. The only problem is that Xo is her sponsor and has a felony for grand theft. Xo was young and in love when she took the fall for her boyfriend, who stole over $400 in jewelry because he already had a record. Remember kids, being young and in love isn’t an excuse the judge will accept. Think of yourself before anyone else.
Jane meets with Petra’s mother, Magda, in prison to try and figure out why Petra would agree to marry Milos. Magda warns Jane that Milos is an internet criminal and that they should be “very vorried” about what he could do. Jane gives Petra a flash drive full of Milos’ files in order to use it against him. It’s nice to see that Jane still cares enough about Petra in order to save her from marrying a psychopath.
After waiting for the right moment, Jane finally tries to tell Rafael about her decision. Before she can tell him about Michael, Rafael stops her. He tells her that he doesn’t want to hear anything about Michael and how she’s chosen him. Rafael continues to tell Jane that Michael is a bad guy and has it out for him. In the end, Rafael tells Jane that she’s throwing away her family and tells her to leave. Ouch! I could hear both of their hearts breaking at that moment. I don’t get how Jane would be able to walk away from that without saying anything. You’ll both get through this rough patch, I know it.
Right before the Villanueva ladies meet with the state’s attorney concerning Xo’s record, Alba and Xo get high. Yes, they somehow got into Xo’s felon ex-boyfriend Zed’s chocolate bar that was filled with marijuana. Perfect timing, huh? Looks like that meeting will have to be pushed off for a later date.
Even after Jane helped Petra out with the flash drive filled with information against Milos, the wedding will continue as planned. Petra is a smart girl and realized that somehow Milos had bugged her. He brought her a violin as a gift right before she was going to tell him about all the information she had on him. What caught Petra’s attention was that he brought her the same type of violin that she mentioned in her story she told Jane even though that’s not the true violin Milos gave her in the story. Since Petra cannot find the bug, she tells Jane that she’s only marrying Milos for money and tries to make it sound convincing for him. I don’t want to say this but I kind of feel bad for Petra.
Looks like Rogelio tried betraying Britney before she had the chance to. He wasn’t as popular as he is now, so when he was hanging out with her he might have tipped off the paparazzi. I understand where he’s coming from and I think Britney understands it too. She tells Rogelio that she didn’t mess with the teleprompter at the Latin Music Awards like he’s been thinking she did all these years. It was actually the guy behind the teleprompter who overheard her talking about Rogelio using her in the past. Either way, the two stars put their differences aside.
OMG! So much for Michael being a good guy! When he gets in trouble at work for letting Nadine go he immediately thinks Rafael was the one who ratted him out. Since Michael told Jane about Nadine while the baby monitor was on it would seem that Rafael is the only other person who could’ve heard it.
Michael charges into the hotel and starts pushing and shoving Rafael. Poor Rafael has no idea what Michael is talking about and is disgusted that Jane knew about this and was okay with it. Before you know it, Michael punches Rafael in the face and breaks a glass table by landing on it. I’m with little Mateo on this one — let’s just cry in fear and anger at what we’ve witnessed. Poor Mateo even suffered a war wound from the fight.
Since he’s so obsessed with Rafael, Michael checked the interview tapes to see if Rafael really did turn him in or not. Turns out it was one of Nadine’s friends who came forward. Michael tells Jane that Rafael wasn’t the one who ratted him out and that he was truly sorry for the way he reacted. After thinking about everything that happened that night and seeing Mateo get hurt, Jane realizes she cannot be with Michael. She tells him that they won’t work together before he leaves. So for everyone that was commenting about not watching the show anymore, I suggest you continue to watch it now. Looks like Jane will be fighting to get Rafael back.
Milos always has something up his sleeves. I guess he also wanted to get married in order to cover up the thousands of grenades that were shipped to him. He’s right, a wedding makes the perfect cover-up for all the boxes. However, now that he and Petra are married, she cannot say anything against him. Stupid laws.
Does anyone know what Michael’s new partner Susanna’s deal is? She spied on Michael breaking into his lieutenant’s office to watch the interview tape talking about Nadine. Instead of speaking with Michael about this first, she goes to the lieutenant himself. The boss tells Michael to hand in his badge and gun for breaking into his office. To make things worse, Nadine pops up in Michael’s car with a gun up to his head. I hope she realizes how much he’s been through thanks to her.
What were your thoughts on this episode of Jane the Virgin? Do you think Jane really is done with Michael? I hope she tries to win Rafael back because I just want to see them as a happy family. You must be joking. Did we watch the same show? Michael is crazy jealous of Raphael, Jane won’t have a moment of peace with Michaels temper. Having Michael and Jane together would be so bad for Mateo. I’m so glad Michael spun out of control and showed his true colors before it was too late. I watched some of last seasons episodes there was a shock in one scene when Jane and Raphael kissed, Xo had the same spark with Rohelio and knew it was meant to be. Hopefully she will commit this season.
Gee- I know we watched the same show because I made those exact points in the recap. I completely agree with you- Rafael should be the winner. It looks like Jane gave Michael the boot because she’s putting Mateo’s needs before hers.
I think that she will end up with Michael! #team Michael I don’t think she should get with Rafael because of his past and the way he acts to her and how he was going to play the cancer card and how he livestock her and we don’t know know if he will ever stop, and I kind of think people pick Rafael for his good looks. Michael has a better personality and is more kind and really and truly cares about Jane and her son, so he did get in a fight with Rafael but you all were thinking Rafael did do I was scared that Michael and Jane were not going to be together but I know they will end up cause Michael has a lot of pros and a few cons to me for Rafael he is hot to some people and that may pick you to be on his side that’s what I think. But over all I am not giving up my hope for #team Michael cause I know they will end up with each other and Rafael will be with Petra so GO #TEAM MICHAEL

I don’t think Rafael was ever going to use his cancer against Jane. It was just something his crazy sister Luisa brought up. I think after this episode, Michael’s cons outnumber his pros. How could he get into a fight like that with Rafael and hurt baby Mateo? I never see Rafael getting back with Petra. She should be with Michael if anyone because they both attract trouble.
