STAMFORD, Conn. – Oct. 22, 2015 – The 2015 Formula One Drivers’ Championship can be decided on American soil for the first time in more than 30 years on network television this weekend, as NBC Sports presents live coverage of the United States Grand Prix from Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, this Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on NBC. Sunday’s coverage begins with F1 Countdown at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
NBC, NBCSN and NBC Sports Live Extra will combine to air live coverage of all three practices, qualifying and Sunday’s grand prix, beginning with live coverage of Practice 1 this Friday at 11 a.m. ET on NBCSN. NBC Sports Group’s F1 broadcast team of announcer Leigh Diffey, veteran analyst and former racecar driver David Hobbs, analyst and former race mechanic for the Benetton F1 team Steve Matchett, and F1 insider Will Buxton will call the action on-site from COTA.
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton is on the verge of his third career and second consecutive F1 title, and will need to outscore Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel by nine points and Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg by two points to clinch the title.
