With an episode title like “Skanks Get Shanked,” how would you not want to watch this week’s How to Get Away with Murder?
We start with a flashback to four weeks earlier, with paramedics arriving to save Annalise’s life. They cart her off in the ambulance. Nate and the kids are in a police car. Michaela’s phone rings and she tells someone everything’s fine. Who is that someone? Well, you’ll just have to wait until the end of this recap.
Back to the present day. Nate’s wife, Nia, calls Annalise from Nate’s phone and wants to see her. Annalise goes to the hospital and finds out that Nia wants her to do her a favor — and we’re not talking about watering the plants. Nia wants Annalise to kill her. Well, not actually do the deed herself, but to get Nia some pills to do the job herself.
With this interaction weighing on her mind, Annalise gets a new case involving a teen girl named Zoe who is charged with stabbing her best friend Rachel to death. Annalise’s strategy is to put the blame on mean girls Megan and Molly. Her argument is Zoe’s mind was manipulated by the girls to do the job as a way of getting revenge on Rachel for seeing Molly’s boyfriend.
But Connor sees similarities with this particular case with how Annalise treats him and the other students.
Laurel takes Zoe’s phone and, sure enough, finds a hidden video of the girls celebrating Rachel’s demise. She shows it to Annalise who then brings it to the attention of Zoe’s parents. They ask her to get rid of the incriminating footage. Annalise agrees and goes to Frank to get the job done.
But when Molly takes the stand, the prosecution reveals the same video. It turns out Connor actually gave it to them, because he couldn’t believe everyone was just going to sweep Zoe’s guilt under the carpet. Making matters worse, Zoe basically threatens Molly, who was making Zoe out to be an outsider who forced her way into the group.
Needless to say Annalise was pissed and brought to light that Connor’s car didn’t get taken care of after all.
Meanwhile, Annalise tasks Michaela with prepping Catherine and Caleb for the stand. She wants the adopted siblings, accused of killing their parents, to admit they were in a romantic relationship. Michaela relates to Caleb, since she was adopted, too. She also finds out that Catherine is actually a virgin.
Catherine agrees to have the doctor confirm this to disprove the tabloid sib-cest rumors.
Wes goes to Nate with findings that Frank made three calls the night Rebecca disappeared. One was a Sabrina Mancini, who is connected to a “Bruno,” according to Levi’s findings. Bruno went to high school with Frank and was contacted to help dump Rebecca’s body where he works at the cemetery. Meanwhile, Annalise could see Nate and Wes talking in the hospital parking lot.
Speaking of Ms. Keating, she actually does get the pills from Frank for Nia. However, she decides not to give them to her. Cut to Asher, who has been dodging Bonnie like Ferris Bueller. Only his day off is spent with his dad, getting some kind of plea deal from Emily Sinclair, who is currently going against Annalise in the sibling case and is basically out for Annalise’s head.
Principal Bonnie finds out what young Asher is up to by having his phone traced and confronts him. He must have watched Season 1 on DVD, because it turns out he isn’t out of the loop after all. Asher knows pretty much everything regarding Sam’s murder and everyone’s involvement in it.
Bonnie tells him that she was the one who killed Sam.
Cue flashback with Michaela exiting the cop car and heading into a building. She reaches a room, puts a key in a door and opens it to reveal … Caleb?!! He asks how she is. Michaela responds that she is good. Whoa.
