Comedy Central describes the new animated series Moonbeam City as “an absurdist, retro-futuristic ’80s cop extravaganza” about an incompetent but attractive detective who does more harm than good. We’ll describe it as FX’s Archer meets Miami Vice. Rob Lowe voices Det. Dazzle Novak, Elizabeth Banks voices police Chief Pizzaz Miller, Will Forte voices Dazzle’s rival Rad Cunningham and Kate Mara voices Chrysalis Tate, the only capable cop in town. The entire pilot episode, “Mall Hath No Fury,” is available to watch on cc.com. Moonbeam City premieres on Comedy Central Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 10:30pm ET/PT following the Season 19 premiere of South Park.
