President Obama to appear on “Running Wild with Bear Grylls”

President Barack Obama will trek through the wilderness with survival expert Bear Grylls for a special edition of Grylls’ NBC series Running Wild with Bear Grylls, to air later this year. The episode will be taped while President Obama is in Alaska this week to observe the effects of climate change on the area. The president will then come together with Grylls in the Alaskan wilderness, where he will become the first U.S. president to receive a crash-course in survival techniques from Grylls.

Running Wild with Bear Grylls is currently in its second season, and has already featured a number of non-presidential celebrities, including Kate Winslet, Drew Brees, Kate Hudson, Zac Efron, Michelle Rodriguez and Channing Tatum. The series tests stars’ survival skills and pushes them to mental and physical limits. The episode featuring the president will air later this year on NBC.
