Thursday, July 16, Syfy is premiering two series in its late-night block: the game show Geeks Who Drink, followed by Reactor, a celebration of all things sci-fi.
Geeks Who Drink, airing Thursdays at 11pm ET/PT, is hosted by Zachary Levi and is based on the pub trivia contest of the same name. Over 12 half-hour episodes, the series features two three-player teams of self-proclaimed trivia geeks who go head-to-head and shot-for-shot as they battle it out in rapid-fire quizzes that cover topics ranging from pop culture to science fiction. After three rounds of play, the team with the largest bar tab wins the game.

July 23: iJustine (team “Ewoking Dead”) vs. Alan Tudyk (team “Slurenity”)
July 30: John DiMaggio vs. David Giuntoli
Aug. 6: Mark Pellegrino (team “Barma Initiative”) vs. Brett Dalton (team “Make It a Double Agent”)
Aug. 13: Felicia Day (team “Beer Me Up, Scotty”) vs. Dexter Darden (team “Maze Rum Runners”)
Aug. 20: Grey Damon (team “Whiskey Business”) vs. Josh Brener (team “Down & Nerdy”)
Aug. 27: Jonathan Sadowski (team “Light Sobers”) vs. Lenny Jacobson (team “Ale Storm”)
Other team captains rivalries with dates TBD include: Matthew MacCaull vs. Andrew Daly; Dominic Monaghan vs. Rob Kazinsky; Tricia Helfer vs. Kevin Weisman; Zachary Knighton vs. Harold Perrineau; and Robert Buckley vs. Retta.
Geeks Who Drink airs Thursdays at 11pm ET/PT on Syfy beginning July 16.
Syfy’s other new late-night series, Reactor, is hosted by comedian David Huntsberger. Also running over 12 half-hours, the show tackles everything hot in science fiction, from movies and TV to comics via exclusive clips, comedic sketches, trailers and mashups. The show is shot before a live audience and will feature celebrity guest appearances.
Reactor airs Thursdays at 11:30pm ET/PT on Syfy beginning July 16.

So the Reactor is The Will Wheaton Project (which was cancelled because the execs “didn’t get it” an excuse we’ve seen all to often since the slide from SciFi to syfy began) but this time with a host you’ve never heard of, who’s name won’t get anyone to tune in.
