Really?? Not Once, But Twice … I Still Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant

OK, it’s hard enough to believe someone can go an entire eight/nine months without realizing their body is changing, or that a baby is actually kicking inside of them or that they are about to give birth, but to have it happen twice? Come on now, who are these people??? Well, we get to meet them as TLC puts the spotlight on two women in tonight’s hour-long special, I Still Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant, which begins on TLC at 9pm ET. [Prior to the special at 8pm ET, TLC will look back at some of the most shocking births from the original series in the special I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant Again: Most Shocking.]

I-Didn't-Know-I-Was-Pregnant-AgainIn the special viewers will meet meet Tawanda (above), who press materials described as a young woman (baby #1) who works hard and parties even harder. After meeting her soul mate, Tawanda religiously took birth control as she wasn’t quite ready for kids. OK, so you can kind of get why she wouldn’t expect to be preggers, right? But during one of her girls’ nights out, she needs to leave the nightclub after experiencing excruciating pain. She tries to walk to her nearby home, but cannot make it and a taxicab stops to pick her up. It is during the cab ride that she realizes she is in labor. That was the first go ’round in not knowing. Second time has us fast forwarding 13 years and five more kids later, when Twanda is surprised to feel the familiar pang of labor pains and delivers another surprise baby unexpectedly while at a friend’s BBQ. “My husband was like, ‘no, no, no, this cannot be happening to us again,'” she tells.

Another Ms. Clueless featured in I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant is fitness fanatic Crystal, who is already a mother of one, who goes to the hospital thinking her intense pain is caused by a suspicious case of kidney stones – only to discover she is in labor! A year later and still recovering from her first surprise birth, she delivers a second unexpected baby in her bathroom with the help of her boyfriend and aunt.

Also scheduled on TLC for Wednesday, June 10 at 9pm ET, TLC will air another one-hour special of I Still Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant, featuring more women who have found themselves in the same situation.
