The premiere date for the long awaited, and highly anticipated sequel to the summer smash, Teen Beach Movie, was announced today by Disney Channel. Teen Beach 2 will premiere Friday, June 26 at 8pm ET/PT. And After the premiere of Teen Beach 2, fans are invited to stay on Disney Channel and check out its newest comedy series, Best Friends Whenever.
Teen Beach 2 is packed with hot new songs and cool dance numbers, and picks up at the close of summer when Brady and Mack are headed back to school. they receive a surprise visit from their 1960s friends, Lela and Tanner, who have jumped from the silver screen flick, Wet Side Story and the beach bunny and surf doggie are quickly followed by their movie pals, Butchy, Cheechee and Seacat. Mack and Brady know from experience that the “real” world and the movie world don’t mix, so they devise a plan and use the magic of Lela’s necklace to get everyone back to their celluloid world before it’s too late.
Reprising their singing and dancing roles are many of the talented actors and dancers who helped make the original Teen Beach Movie a worldwide smash. Ross Lynch (Austin & Ally and Hollywood Records’ R5) returns to star as Brady and The Fosters’ Maia Mitchell reprises her role as McKenzie (“Mack”). Also returning to the film franchise are Grace Phipps (Baby Daddy) as Lela; Garrett Clayton (The Fosters) as Tanner; John DeLuca (Twisted) as Butchy; Jordan Fisher (Hollywood Records recording artist) as Seacat; Mollee Gray (So You Think You Can Dance) as Giggles; Chrissie Fit (Pitch Perfect 2) as Cheechee; Jessica Lee Keller (Dancing with the Stars) as Struts; William Loftis (Teen Beach Movie) as Lugnut; and Kent Boyd (So You Think You Can Dance) as Rascal. Joining the cast are Piper Curda (I Didn’t Do It) as Alyssa, Raymond Cham, Jr. (Jessie) as Devon and Ross Butler (K.C. Undercover) as Spencer.
About Best Friends Whenever
The series follows Shelby (Richie Rich’s Lauren Taylor) and Cyd (Landry Bender from Disney XD’s Crash & Bernstein), who — after a science experiment goes awry — gain the power to leap forward and backward in time whenever they want, and sometimes when they don’t. Now, the duo experience the twists and turns of friendship as they try to decide between fixing mistakes in the past or catching a glimpse of the future. While aspiring scientist Barry and his trusty assistant Naldo try to figure out how to replicate time travel for themselves, Cyd and Shelby use their newfound power to navigate high school, life and Shelby’s mischievous twin brothers Bret and Chet.
In the premiere episode, Shelby enlists Barry and Naldo to help create the perfect ambiance at school to ask her crush Cameron to the big dance. When the unexpected spoils her plans, Shelby and Cyd try to use their newfound power to travel back in time to fix everything.

The Sounds of Summer
The Teen Beach 2 soundtrack is from Walt Disney Records and is available for pre-order at iTunes and Disney’s newly launched music site. The soundtrack includes a blend of contemporary and 1960s inspired songs performed by the cast, an end credit song performed by Hollywood Records’ artist R5, one song performed by Hollywood Records’ artist Sabrina Carpenter and three bonus tracks.
