Boxing promoter Al Haymon hopes to reenergize televised boxing by launching Premier Boxing Champions, a new series of bouts on NBC, NBCSN, Spike and CBS. The debut Saturday, March 7, at 8:30pm ET on NBC has Keith Thurman vs. Robert Guerrero and Adrien Broner vs. John Molina Jr. at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Blow-by-blow announcer Marv Albert and analyst “Sugar” Ray Leonard call the action. Al Michaels hosts, and Laila Ali and B.J. Flores are corner analysts. Kenny Rice reports. NBC and NBCSN combine to air 20 Premier Boxing Champions events in 2015.
Premier Boxing Champions makes its first appearance on Spike Friday, March 13, at 9pm ET, featuring Andre Berto vs. Josesito Lopez and Shawn Porter vs. Roberto Garcia at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, Calif. Scott Hansen is blow-by-blow announcer with analysts Antonio Tarver and Jimmy Smith. Dana Jacobson hosts. Spike airs nine Premier Boxing Champions events on Friday nights in 2015.
CBS steps into the ring on Saturday, April 4, with Adonis Stevenson vs. Sakio Bika at Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec City, Canada.
