Tom Selleck will be back in the ninth installment of the popular Jesse Stone mystery film franchise, based on the books by Robert B. Parker, in a Fall 2015 original film debuting on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. The movie, titled Jesse Stone: Lost in Paradise, is currently in pre-production in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and finds Paradise Police Chief Jesse Stone (Selleck) agreeing to help the Massachusetts State Homicide Division track down a serial killer.
The previous installments of the Jesse Stone franchise have aired on broadcast television, and have made their cable premieres on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. This is the first time that a Jesse Stone film will be made exclusively for air on the network.
“Just about anywhere I go, people come up to me and ask ‘When can I see the next ‘Jesse Stone?’ Thanks to Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, I can happily say it’s coming soon,” said Selleck, in a release. The actor also co-wrote the screenplay for Lost in Paradise, with his fellow executive producer Michael Brandman.
